Prepare items for shipment. Duties include assembling, addressing, stamping, and shipping merchandise or material; receiving, unpacking, verifying and recording incoming merchandise or material; and arranging for the transportation of products. Afternoon shift: 3:00pm - 11:30 pm. Essential Functions: Examine contents and compare with records, such as manifests, invoices, or orders, to verify accuracy of incoming or outgoing shipment. Prepare documents, such as work orders, bills of lading, and shipping orders to route materials. Determine shipping method for materials, using knowledge of shipping procedures, routes, and rates. Record shipment data, such as weight, charges, space availability, and damages and discrepancies, for reporting, accounting, and record-keeping purposes. Contact carrier representative to make arrangements and to issue instructions for shipping and delivery of materials. Confer and correspond with establishment representatives to rectify problems, such as damages, shortages, and non-conformance to specifications. Requisition and store shipping materials and supplies to maintain inventory of stock. Deliver or route materials to departments, using work devices, such as hand truck, conveyor, or sorting bins. Compute amounts, such as space available, and shipping, storage, and demurrage charges, using calculator or price list. Pack, seal, label, and affix postage to prepare materials for shipping, using work devices such as hand tools, power tools, and postage meter. Receive and count stock items, and record data manually or using computer. Pack and unpack items to be stocked on shelves in stockrooms, warehouses, or storage yards. Support all Environmental, Health, and Safety programs, policies, and regulations. Verify inventory computations by comparing them to physical counts of stock, and investigate discrepancies or adjust errors. Store items in an orderly and accessible manner in warehouses, supply rooms, or other areas. Mark stock items using identification tags, stamps, electric marking tools, or other labeling equipment. Clean and maintain supplies, tools, equipment, and storage areas in order to ensure compliance with safety regulations. Determine proper storage methods, identification, and stock location based on turnover, environmental factors, and physical capabilities of facilities. Prepare and maintain records and reports of inventories, shortages, shipments, expenditures, and goods used or issued. This list is not all-inclusive and may include other duties as assigned and necessary for the operation and management of the site. Requirements: QUALIFICATIONS High School Graduate or General Education Degree GED Minimum of 6 months of experience working in a chemical manufacturing warehouse environment with hazardous materials required Eligibility Requirements: Willing and able to work an afternoon shift Willing and able to work overtime as needed and required Willing and able to drive a fork truck and pass certification Desired Characteristics: Associate Degree two-year college or technical school Minimum of 2 years experience with hazardous materials Minimum of 1-year analytical testing experience Prior fork truck driving experience is desired Working knowledge of SAP Excellent communication and documentation skills Attention to detail and strong math skills Strong computer skills Team player, individual thinker Customer focused; positive attitude Prici
