Job Description:

Ensure the effective daily operation of the Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS). Maintain user security, perform system maintenance, configure new Master Data, troubleshoot, and conduct training for new staff. Liaise with other department staff, other departments, and external vendors.

Salary: $80k.

Hours: Mon-Fri

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

-Ensure LIMS is functioning properly so that laboratory personnel may access the system and complete necessary testing and review tasks

-Manage LIMS vendor, consulting services, and projects with that vendor to ensure successful implementation

-Configure Master Data for new analysis, including use of LIMS basic to create subroutines. Update Master Data as needed to ensure continued compliance and alignment with QC policies, product specifications, testing and stability protocols, and analytical methodology

-Maintain local user security by creating user profiles and setting access rights

-Assist with creating custom and/or ad-hoc reports and trend analyses using the LIMS capabilities

-Conduct training for new staff or new functionalities inside the company

-Work with IT to ensure correct database and system function and troubleshoot as necessary. Lead projects when integration of the LIMS system is required with other IT systems

-Assist the company and appropriate staff during various audits and assessments of operations

-Assist in designing and continuously improving LIMS systems, particularly within areas of software systems

-Write and review departmental and interdepartmental SOPs involving LIMS

-Assist with review, analysis, reporting and trending of analytical data that may include environmental/utility monitoring, in-process, lot release, and/or product related testing

Requirements

Education and Experience

-Bachelor's Degree in a scientific or technical discipline

-6+ years of related experience, including at least 2 years of experience managing/administering a laboratory information management system in a ISO 17025, GMP or GLP environment

-Experience with change control and software validation

-Knowledge of LIMS Basic coding; experience writing subroutines

-Experience preparing Crystal Reports

-Knowledge of ELN (Enterprise Laboratory Notebook) application

-Working knowledge of food QC laboratory operations preferred

-Knowledge of NWA (Northwest Analytical) preferred

-Certification and/or License --N/A

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

-Able to manage projects, involve support teams and coordinate data resulting in successful implementation

-Able to exercise independent judgment in developing methods, techniques, and evaluation criteria for obtaining results

-Able to work on extremely complex problems in which analysis of situation or data requires an in-depth evaluation of intangible variables

-Ability to learn technical business processes and translate that into LIMS support mechanisms

-Able to handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment

-Able to demonstration excellent written and verbal communications skills

-Able to coach and train others

-Able to work in a team environment in a cooperative and respectful manner

-Able to be flexible and adaptable

-Proficient in the use of Crystal Report, LIMS Basic, Microsoft or equivalent software; word processing, email, spreadsheet and database configuration
