Kelly Services is seeking a full-time Machine Operator for an orthopedic manufacturer!

Pay rate: $15/hr

Schedule: Monday-Friday 6:30 am - 3:00 pm

Temp to hire assignment


+ Prepare, fill and modify casts to proper configuration using plaster of Paris and shaping tools as assigned by supervisor.

+ Document inform supervisor if questions arise for customer during fabrication.

+ Quality inspect finished extremities prior to final quality inspection.

+ Empowered to reject any completed products that do not meet our standards.

+ Work closely with final inspector to ensure 4:30 grounds and 7:30 standard shipments are being processed in a timely fashion.

+ Notify supervisor of any mis-shipments.

+ Available to work a minimum of 45 hours per week.

+ The ability to work overtime is considered an essential job requirement.

+ Familiar with blood borne pathogens protection procedures.

+ Ability to read, write and understand English language


+ Develop inspection criteria for custom extremities to include measurement specifications, as well as cosmetic and quality acceptance.

+ QC other finished custom to cast products as assigned by leads.

+ Leads will provide inspection criteria.

+ Assign personnel re-do or modification work as necessary.

+ Follow up with complicated or special orders throughout the day to ensure timely shipment

+ Prepare material requisitions.

+ May perform additional duties as assigned.


+ Balancing maintaining body equilibrium to prevent falling when walking, standing or crouching on narrow, slippery or erratically moving surfaces.

+ Stooping, bending body downward and forward by bending spine at the waist. Kneeling- Bending legs.

+ Crouching, bending the body downward and forward by fending leg and spine.

+ Crawling- Moving about on hands and knees or hands and feet.

+ Reaching

+ Extending hands and arms in any direction.

+ Standing, remaining upright on the feet for sustained periods

+ Walking and moving about on foot to accomplish tasks from one work workstation to another.

+ Pulling using upper extremities to exert force, drag, haul or tug objects in a sustained motion.

+ Lifting and raising objects from a lower to a higher position.

+ Working primarily with fingers rather than with the whole hand or arm.

+ Grasping and applying pressure to an object with the fingers and palm.

+ Feeling- perceiving attributes of objects, such as size, shape, temperature or texture by touching with skin, particularly that of fingertips.

+ Talking and expressing or exchanging ideas

+ Hearing and perceiving the nature of sounds at normal speaking levels with or without correction, and having the ability to receive detailed information through oral communication, and making fine discrimination in sound.

+ Repetitive motion- making substantial movements motions of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers.


+ Ability to exert up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects.


+ Required to have a close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: operating machines such as lathes, drill presses, power saws and, mills where the seeing job is at or within arm s reach; performing mechanical or skilled trades tasks of a non-repetitive nature such as ones by carpenters, technicians, service, people, plumbers, painters, mechanics, etc.


+ Subject to inside environmental conditions: protection from weather conditions but not necessarily from temperature changes.

+ Subject to noise: there is sufficient noise to cause the worker to shout to be heard above the ambient noise level.

+ Subject to vibrations: exposure to oscillating movements of the machines.
