Machine Shop Supervisor

Kelly Services has a client looking for a Machine Shop Supervisor, that would get hired directly with their company offering benefits and 401(k). This is a first shift either from 5 am/6 am- 1 pm/2pm Monday through Friday.



The Machine Shop Supervisor is a hands-on working supervision position. Responsible for the oversite of manufacturing of parts per print specifications in an accurate and timely manner utilizing manual and CNC machine centers.



**Essential Duties and Responsibilities**



This list of duties and responsibilities is not all inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties and responsibilities as management may deem necessary from time to time.




1. Plan production schedules and organize work to utilize available skills, knowledge, experience, equipment and tooling to achieve STMC quality, workmanship delivery and safety goals.

2. Ensure the training of new and current employees in the processes and methods required to achieve the companys standards for quality, quantity, and safety.

3. Participate in STMC leadership meetings.

4. Embrace Lean Manufacturing principles and support 6S activities.

5. Continually evaluate processes, methods and recommend measures to improve production methods, equipment, performance, utilization of personnel, and quality of product.

6. Act as a technical resource to respond to concerns and challenges for collective resolution with the assistance of your team members.

7. Monitor departmental supplies, tools and equipment.

8. Ensure the completion of all required production paperwork, electronic records and documentation such as timecards, quality records, and M1 reporting.

9. Comfortable with Microsoft office products Word, Excel, etc. with proficient keyboard skills as well as familiarity with ERP programs.

10. Propose recommendations for and appropriately manage vacation schedules.

11. Read and interpret blueprint specifications for the purpose of machining production parts.

12. Set up; program and operate manual machine tools and CNC machine centers.

13. Use a variety of precision measuring devices to set-up and adjust work and verify conformance of work to specifications.

14. Follow all clean up and housekeeping procedures.

15. Comply with all quality and safety requirements.









**Qualifications**

**Education and/or Experience**




+ Requires education generally equivalent to an Associates Degree.

+ Requires 7-10 years of machinist experience.

+ Requires mathematical skills that require the ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide, and perform geometric algebraic and trigonometric calculations.

+ Requires good oral and written communication skills in order to interact with coworkers.

+ Must be highly proficient in the understanding of blueprints, specifications and routings.
