The Maintenance Engineer is responsible for planning and scheduling work orders via the CMMS. The Maintenance Engineer is responsible for planning, scheduling and executing capital projects. The Maintenance Engineer will requisition labour, material, equipment and services as required. The Maintenance Engineer will perform other duties including training for CMMS and overall upkeep and maintenance of the CMMS system. The Maintenance Engineer issues equipment, material, supplies, merchandise, or tools, and compiles stock and inventory records in the storeroom.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES

- Knows, and observes all Standard Operating Procedures, safety procedures and rules, and environmental practices.

- Assists plant operations through process improvement projects and equipment upgrades.

- Provides training and support to plant personnel on new equipment.

- Responsible for maintaining the operation of the CMMS.

- Assists maintenance personnel in trouble-shooting and equipment repair.

- Attends regular planning/production meetings.

- Requisitions parts, labour, equipment, services, tools and material for all planned jobs.

- Builds daily, weekly and shut-down work schedules.

- Tracks work orders and preventive maintenance.

- Maintains spare parts inventory levels and control.

- Responsible for working with operational designees to properly prioritize and schedule maintenance activities.

- Routinely reviews WOs completed during prior shifts and weekends for status and completeness.

- Ensures design packages have been provided prior to initiation of work.

- Weekly Tracks and reports maintenance budget usage.

- Maintains spare parts inventory list for plant.

- Receives items ordered and puts them in the proper location.

- Researches and verifies equipment requirements and specifications.

- Communicates and provides excellent customer service.

**Requirements**

QUALIFICATIONS/ KNOWLEDGE/ EXPERIENCE

(TECHNICAL/ PROFESSIONAL KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS COMPETENCY)

- BS in either chemical or mechanical engineering Essential

- 2 or more years of relevant work experience Essential

PERSONAL SKILLS & KEY COMPETENCIES

(INCLUDING JM BEHAVIOURAL COMPETENCIES AS APPROPRIATE)

- Motivated self-starter, with ability to work with limited supervision; detail-oriented Essential

- Excellent organizational skills and ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment

- Knowledge of spare parts ordering and inventory control procedures Essential

- Demonstrates a thorough understanding of the maintenance processes within the work units and how the work units integrate with others on the site Essential

- Knowledge of industrial equipment, parts and supplies Essential

- Good IT literacy skills, specifically with Microsoft Office, Microsoft Project and AutoCAD. Essential
