Summary
The Maintenance Helper is responsible for performing minor preventative maintenance on conveyor systems and MHE(Material Handling Equipment). This position will also be responsible for the maintenance of the forklift batteries and assist the maintenance mechanics/technicians on repairs and PMs as needed.
Essential Responsibilities
Perform basic maintenance forklift batteries, watering cleaning, cable repair, connector replacements.
Exchange depleted forklift batteries with charged ones.
Assist the Maintenance Mechanics/Technicians with repair or preventative maintenance on conveyor systems and forklifts as needed.
Perform minor preventative maintenance on conveyor systems and forklifts to include but not limited to visual inspections, lube, grease, minor basic repairs.
Read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service.
Responsible for maintaining logs, reports and any other administrative work that may be assigned.
Comply with safety regulations and maintain clean and orderly work areas.
Use a variety of hand and power tools, electric meters and material handling equipment in performing duties.
Perform general housekeeping around your work areas.
Complete work orders and maintaining parts through the use of our CMMS.
Must work safely at all times and comply with all safety policies and procedures.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Working knowledge of tools, common appliances and devices
Knowledge of general maintenance process and methods
Ability to understand and follow directions as given
Ability to work with minimal supervision
Ability to work in all weather conditions
Use miscellaneous office equipment (calculators, computers, FAX machines & copiers)
Requirements
High School diploma or GED
1-2 years minimum level of experience in a similar position
Knowledge or experience with working on conveyors or forklifts is a plus
Strong physical condition and strength
Ability to lift/move 70lbs
Ability to work at elevated heights
Must wear all assigned Personal Protective Equipment
Travel:
0-5%
Licensing/Certification/Registration:
Certified Equipment Operator
A valid Drivers License is required and must be maintained
A valid motor of vehicle registration is required and must be maintained
A valid automobile insurance is required and must be maintained
Work Environment
Work is performed primarily in a warehouse environment. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and listen. The employee is often required to use their hands and fingers, to handle or feel. The employee is frequently required to stand for long periods of time, walk, and reach with their arms and hands, climb, balance, stoop, kneel or crouch, and lift up to 50 pounds and perform similar actions during the course of the work day.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration.
Ability to work under conditions of moderate noise. The noise level in the work environment and job sites can be loud.
Ability to work under hot and cold conditions
1st Shift: 6:00 a.m. - 2:30 p.m. Monday - Friday
Overtime is MANDATORY based on the companys needs!
Pay Rate Range: $18.00 - $20.00 Depending on experience.
