**Job Description**

Maintenance Manager

Position Summary:

Effectively manages the maintenance department to assure that all safety rules are followed and that all equipment is maintained in working order which ensures that all departments run without interruption.

Job Purpose:

The maintenance manager insures that all manufacturing equipment and mobile equipment are operational and the building is maintained. Adheres to all Safety and Environmental rules and regulations.


-Safety, Insure that all maintenance personnel are properly trained and perform all tasks in a safe manner.

-Lead -Take 2- discussions before starting any non-routine tasks.

-Conduct Weekly 5 Minute Safety Talks.

-Active member of the NCS Safety Committee.

-Lead role in the training, monitoring and execution of Fall Protection, Confined Space Entry and LOTO.

-Schedule, supervisor and monitor all maintenance activity - focus on quality of work, efficiency, continuous improvement and the maximization of equipment uptime.

-Assist and participate in the trouble shooting, diagnostics and repair of press/equipment problems.

-Implement and manage an effective and well executed Planned and Predictive Maintenance process, including the development of a cost effective spare parts program.

-Manage the inspection and repair of all mobile equipment - including the monitoring of the required daily inspections by all operators.

-Assist the Director of Manufacturing Engineering relative to working with outside contractors - relative to both equipment and facilities.

-Provide maintenance assistance relative to Lean Manufacturing and operating efficiency improvement.

-Provide maintenance support relative to -The Reorganization of the Weld & Assembly Dept.-.

-Manage the training and development of new maintenance employees and trainees.

-Assist in the recruitment and hiring of additional maintenance personnel and review resumes, conduct preliminary screening, coordinate interviews and participate in the hiring decisions).

-Manage the schedules of all maintenance personnel.

-Manage and approve all maintenance personnel time cards and forward to Payroll weekly for processing.

-Work closely with the Human Resources department to determine disciplinary action and terminations of all maintenance personnel.


Competencies and Education:

-College degree preferred or five years minimum experience as Maintenance Manger in a high volume automotive related environment.

-Excellent communication skills.

-Demonstrate effective, efficient problem solving skills.

-Understands and complies with EMS policy, objectives, and procedures.
