Job Title: Maintenance Assistant

Schedule: Monday - Friday 7AM - 3:30 PM possible OT

Pay Rate: $24 - $27 depending on experience


Job Summary:

The Maintenance Tech will strive for 95% Operational Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) within the plant environment. To achieve this, the preventative maintenance program and the priority schedule must be closely managed. The successful Maintenance Tech will also participate in a number of improvement events throughout the year, focusing on safety, quality, on time delivery, and cost.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Troubleshoot machinery and equipment problems in the plant

Work with manufacturers and/or service departments of suppliers (machinery or equipment) to minimize machine down time

Create purchase orders to procure all necessary tools, parts, and supplies to keep machines and facility in good working order

Prioritize maintenance requests and enter them into the plant maintenance database

Responsible for all plant hazardous waste material; safe storage and disposal according to EH&S standards

Manage plant preventative maintenance program

Dismantle, relocate and install machinery both existing and new

Participate in Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) events as needed

Participate in major machine repair projects as needed

Other duties as assigned


KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

Must be able self-motivated and work without supervision

Have an understanding of industrial instrumentation and control

Must be knowledgeable in OSHA laws as related to general shop practice

Advanced mechanical ability to dismantle and reassemble machinery and equipment

Advanced electrical knowledge of machine tools and facility equipment

Must be able to consistently lift 40 lbs, work on lift platforms up to 30 ft high and ladders up to 35 ft

Computer skills: navigate shared drives, use search engines, basic MS office knowledge

Continuous standing and lifting/lowering

Intermittent walking, use of hand/wrist, and bending/twisting

Occasionally pushing/pulling, and crouching

Occasionally sitting or working at heights

Occasionally climbing

Must carry 1 to 40 pounds occasionally

40 pounds or more lifting device available

High school graduate or equivalent

Experience in a machine shop environment is required


Must be able to pass all hiring screenings process such as drug test and background check

Must be available to start immediately
