Working from drawings, route sheets, charts, blueprints and factory work orders incumbent will setup and operate all functions of assigned machines & equipment with minimum assistance. Incumbent will select the appropriate bits, wheels, machine speeds, punches and dye tolerances and feed rates. Will sets dyes, locating devices, stops, clamps, guides, and guards for the safe and efficient operation of the machines & equipment. Will adjust machine settings for various material thicknesses, temper, clamp placements and work order requirements.


Types of machinery will depend on area of assignment but may include: shear, brake press, drill press, Strippit, NC machines, Verson press, roll-forming machine, band saw, drill press, angle lines, 60-ton press, plasma plate punch, straightener, stretch-forming machines, seam welder, planisher, three-hole punch, knuckler and spin lathe.


Completed High School Diploma or equivalent.

One (1) to three (3) years of related machine operating experience required equivalent education background may be substituted for experience in some areas.

Must be able to read and interpret average to complex blueprints, drawings, diagrams, tolerance information, route sheets, factory work orders, safety guidelines, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.

Must be able to use various precision measuring instruments such as micrometers, height gauges, calipers, dial indicators, protractors, and tape measures to ensure components have been manufactured to tight tolerances.

Ability to regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, and occasionally lift, with assistance, up to 100 pounds.

Job Responsibilities for Welders:

Weld components in flat, vertical, or overhead positions.

Operate manual or semi-automatic welding equipment to fuse metal segments. Monitor the fitting, burning and welding processes to avoid overheating of parts or warping, shrinking, distortion or expansion of material. Recognize, set up, and operate hand and power tools common to the welding trade, such as shielded metal arc and gas metal arc welding equipment. Determine required equipment and welding methods, applying knowledge of metallurgy, geometry, and welding techniques. Repair products by dismantling, straightening, reshaping, and reassembling parts, using cutting torches, straightening presses, and hand tools.


High school diploma or GED required.

Formal welding training in vocational or trade school preferred. 0-2 years experience required.

MIG welding experience required.

May be required to push, pull or move 100 lbs. or more using the appropriate tools (forklift, hoist, tilt-table, skates or mules) up to 2% of the time.


Performs duties to insure the timely and proper movement of material in the warehouse to the production floor, and outside raw material locations to support production, engineering, and customer orders. Inspects incoming shipments to assure that items and quantity are correct. Certified to use fork lift, pallet jack, or other material handling equipment to load/unload materials. Regularly uses scales, CRT units, a variety of hand and power tools, automatic storage and retrieval systems to complete required duties to stock and pull materials in a safe and orderly manner.


High school diploma or GED required. 2-3 years of experience at job desired.


May be required to push, pull or move 100 lbs. or more using the appropriate tools (forklift, hoist, tilt-table, skates or mules) up to 2% of the time.


Assembles, inspects, and packages a variety of cable and antenna products and related components and accessories. May assemble some components using mechanical aids such as presses, jigs, etc. As required, uses hand or power tools, soldering irons, packaging equipment, etc. to complete assignment(s). In accordance with work orders, job directions and dimensional drawings, retrieves components and/or supplies from designated area and sets up work area.

Maintains assigned work area and equipment in a safe and professional manner.

As needed for the specific assignment, may have to use hand tools or operate bench mounted power assist tools (e.g. presses, etc.) to complete work assignment(s).

May use pallet jacks, rolling storage units, or other materials moving equipment, etc. to move raw materials and finished goods.


High School Diploma or GED required.

Minimum one (1) year of manufacturing / assembly experience required.

Required skills include ability to understand dimensional drawings and assembly diagrams.

Ability to regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, and occasionally lift, with assistance, up to 100 pounds.
