**ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND BASIC DUTIES**

This position is a resource in the ongoing production support of existing products, automation equipment, the manufacturing introduction of new products and a key resource in supporting Hardware Engineering during new product or equipment development as assigned by the Engineering Manager.

**Duties include, but are not limited to:**


+ Creates and supports the required processes and procedures to manufacture electronic product lines including the development of manufacturing processes, testing procedures, operator instructions, and training.
+ Supports and validates turn key supplier manufacturing processes.
+ Develops/maintains required tool fixtures, testing, and production software used to test and configure electronic data loggers.
+ Develops/maintains performance measurements, metrics, product reliability/testing, and continuous improvement programs (ISO 9001 auditor).
+ Maintains applicable work, test, and process documentation.
+ Performs sustaining engineering functions such as selection of second source components and layout changes to PCBs (for cost reduction or to address quality issues and modifications to manufacturing process/tools).
+ Supports the product development process.
+ Participates on core team(s), developing prototypes, and alpha and beta units.
+ Oversees assembly, test, process control, and associated internal and external documentation.
+ Supports the manufacturing equipment preventative maintenance program.
+ Coordinates the validation process for products.
+ Works with procurement in qualifying suppliers, defining special requirements, testing, and processes verification/ validation.
+ Leads and coordinates continuous process /product improvement and cost reduction initiatives along with other tasks as assigned.
+ Physical ability to transport objects typically weighing up to 50 lbs.
+ Able to perform several and/or combination of the following tasks such as to lift, carry, push, pull, sit, stand, walk, kneel, squat, bend, twist, reach, grasp and/or work with small objects.
+ Able to stand and/or walk for considerable (8+ hours) periods.
+ Extended work hours may be required, including weekends and holidays to meet customer orders.

**QUALIFICATIONS**


+ Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering with 4-6 years of related work experience.
+ Must be able to use Lean Mfg./Six Sigma/5S techniques to implement change.
+ Experience in writing software (C, C++, C#), Lab Windows, and Visual Basic to test and configure RF and non-RF electronic circuit boards.
+ Experience using AutoCAD, Solid works, and Pads.
+ Previous ISO 9001 auditor and supervisory experience are pluses.
