Manufacturing Engineer (Plastics/Assembly)


-Performs research, design and development of manufacturing processes including production flow, assembly methods and production equipment.

-Prepares and maintains detailed layouts of buildings and equipment.

-Coordinates the manufacturing launch of new/revised products including establishing goals, training team members and evaluating results.

-Create manning plans based on volume forecasts for new programs.

-Gives input to product design based on design for manufacture/design for assembly philosophy.

-Designs, develops and tests and/or sources and cost-justifies various tools, machinery and equipment for recommended manufacturing methods.

-Performs product/process analysis for cost reduction, quality improvement, and improved efficiency.

-Develop and document quality system for new programs (control plan, PFMEA, process flow, work instructions, and inspection plans.)

-Coordinate and document all Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) activities.

-Calculate required dunnage usage. Design, test and order all necessary dunnage for new programs.

-Develop and maintain documentation such as downtime, scrap, and efficiencies.

-Utilize data such as downtime, scrap, efficiencies, etc. to plan and strategize countermeasures for equipment and process problems.

-Lead or participate in Kaizen activities to ensure continuous improvement in processes, products, components, raw materials, and equipment.


-Bachelors degree in Engineering (ME, IE, EE, or BSET)

-Experience in fast-paced automotive assembly manufacturing environment.
