Description Manufacturing Engineer (Cleveland, Ohio)
Our client, an integrated manufacturer of quality, custom injection molded components and highly engineered tooling, is currently hiring a Manufacturing Engineer.

This position is a Direct Hire role.

The Engineer will coordinate engineering and technical activities concerned with the design, development, fabrication, and implementation of tooling and equipment

Develops and reviews the tooling design to ensure that the customer's technical needs will be met
Project management: Sets expectations, engages, guides, and provides support to Toolmakers and CNC Programmers in order to meet project deadlines
Develops and coordinates tool due diligence to ensure manufacturability
Supplier management: Sets expectations, provides information for and monitors any outsourcing activity
Support tool shop activity to ensure fabrication is to specifications, process needs, cost requirements and schedules
Support the Injection Molding Department needs with regard to fixtures, gages, end of arm tooling (EOAT), and other basic tool support
Coordinates and conducts tool trials for process development and prototype supply
Evaluates potential engineering changes to the products and what tooling changes are required, implements tool design models and drawings as required
Defines the critical criteria required for primary equipment specification and quotation, including material handling equipment, tonnage, and special construction requirements
Develops, proposes and implements tooling and equipment improvements to foster an environment of continuous improvement
Fluent in change controls
Performs necessary functions to adhere to ISO standards
Provides Quality Department with documentation and models for inspection purposes
Provides tooling and special equipment training to operators
Reports on all process development and tool design activities relative to achieving targets, risks and deficiencies to project team and management
Supports sales and quoting activity
Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills with multiple levels of the organization
Ability to deliver, meet deadlines, and have results orientation

5+ years of experience in aerospace and injection molding tool design and fabrication
Understanding of state-of-the-art tooling technology, assembly, and fabrication
Ability to handle multiple projects
Complex problem- solving capability
Knowledge of fundamental machining methods, including CNC and EDM
Familiarity with design of basic assembly equipment and fixtures
Proficiency with CAD/CAM software; KeyCreator and/or Mastercam
Proficiency in geometric tolerance, quality assurance, and quality management systems
Fluent in the use of a Continuous Improvement tools & techniques; ISO standards a plus
Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering or equivalent experience
