I have an exciting Temp-to-Hire opportunity with a Client in Lawrence, MA who designs, develops, and manufactures innovative devices for cell-based assays. We combine the most advanced material science, polymer manufacturing technologies, optical materials, and device design to provide a new generation of assay devices that provide new tools for cell-based assays.



**JOB SUMMARY** Immediate opening for a Manufacturing Engineer, based at corporate headquarters in Lawrence, Massachusetts. The job duties include:




+ Support production lines across consumable high volume and instrument low volume production lines. Provide in-process and root cause failure analysis, implementing and maintaining lean principles, supporting released products by either replacing obsolete parts or recommending manufacturing improvements, and key contributor in releasing products to manufacturing.



The successful candidate must be resourceful, comfortable communicating technical issues, understands a sense of urgency as it relates to production and able to multi task between multiple projects and operational needs.



This individual must be able to thrive in a dynamic work environment with multifunctional teams as well as function independently and must be able to meet time sensitive deadlines in addition to being adaptable to rapidly changing priorities.



**PRINCIPAL DUTIES & ACTIVITIES** :




+ Main support for all manufacturing production related issues

+ Write production documentation to support production process per ISO standard

+ Setting up and improving production lines for new and improved products

+ Improve production quality through design and manufacturing equipment

+ Establish test methods

+ Develop and perform testing on production instruments to understand root cause failure

+ Collaborate with R&D Engineering to design and test tooling

+ Train production technicians and operators on production procedures and processes

+ Initiate, support, and implement improvements on existing products

+ Support supply chain in resolving technical related issues



**Qualifications:**




+ 5-15 years experience in the biomedical device industry working with electro mechanical and optical products

+ Proficient with parametric modeling using Autodesk Inventor

+ Able to debug mechanical and electromechanical systems

+ Experience managing large and small project from concept to delivery

+ A comprehensive understanding of ISO 9001as it relates to product development and manufacturing

+ Knowledgeable designing with sheet metal, plastics, milled and turned parts

+ Experience designing shipping boxes and testing to industry standard

+ Able to apply GD&T to part drawings in order to ensure proper part fit up

+ Extensive knowledge in DFA, and DFM concepts

+ Proficient in all aspects of Microsoft Office (word, excel, and power point)

+ A general understanding of embedded computer systems



**EDUCATION:**




+ Requires a Bachelors in Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering. Masters preferred equivalent work experience
