Job Summary


Support the manufacture of orthopedic implants by learning and participating in manufacturing engineering, process improvement, purchasing, and other technical functional assignments.




Essential Duties & Responsibilities


Ensure proper and continuous operation of the manufacturing equipment and systems.

Maintain and troubleshoot process equipment and software.

Provide technical support for quality control, process improvement, cost savings, process development projects, new product launches, equipment qualifications, and process validations.

Operate within Strykers quality system to produce documentation such as, inspection plans, equipment maintenance logs and standard operating procedures (SOPs)

Support continuous improvement efforts by performing time studies, value stream analysis, flow analysis and other Lean related tasks.

Make proposals/recommendations in support of the team to help achieve team goals in quality, cost, delivery, safety, and morale.

Periodically work independently with vendors.

Investigate Quality issues for root cause and recommend/implement corrective actions.

Manage Engineering Change Notices for process changes from creation to final approval

Make proposals/recommendations with regards to Capital equipment purchases, cost reduction opportunities (insourcing/outsourcing), and Supplier/Vendor selection.

Periodically lead projects and processes; work with cross-functional teams to get these projects completed.

Act as the point of contact with regards to new product development projects; participate in new product teams.

Play an active role in the Mentee/Mentor program with Stryker Operations.

Complete all required trainings, and each phase of the rotation successfully and as outlined in the program rotation syllabus.

Having knowledge of and ability to provide Interpretation and Guidance on Regulations, Corporate, Divisional and Site Local procedures as they relate to validation activities. Discuss / give feedback in validations. Support executing, reviewing and approving Validation/Qualification Documentation. Working with Validation team and Consultants/Contractors as required ensuring that Validations are completed as per corporate and divisional procedures.





Education and Special Training Required Bachelors Degree in Engineering or relevant field of study

Qualifications and Work Experience Required 0-2 years experience in a production/manufacturing environment

Prefer Co-Op experience or project management experience

Demonstrated computer skills using Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc)

Demonstrated interpersonal, communication and presentation skills. Must be comfortable presenting at team level meetings.

Ability to perform in and be challenged by a team-based environment, which places a high degree of emphasis on accountability for customer service levels, inventory management, cost reduction and quality/GMP compliance.

Must have a commitment towards professional development through a two-year intense technical training rotational program in a variety of challenging manufacturing assignments.
