Our client, a Global Leader in Anodized Aluminum, both Packaging, and Decorating of anodized aluminum, is currently hiring a Manufacturing Engineer.

This position is a Direct Hire. Their shop is fully integrated, specializing in design, fabrication, anodizing, metallizing, injection molding, decorating, finishing, and assembly of anodized aluminum and metallized components, including packaging.

The Manufacturing Engineer (ME) will be responsible for assuring adequate manufacturing processes are documented, deployed, and maintained in the manufacturing facility. The ME will be responsible for supporting these processes by implementing change driven by the production requirements or by continuous improvement activities. This is a working engineer position and requires substantial time on the plant floor.


Resolves day-to-day production issues that may impede ability to ship quality products on time.

Resolve issues that are typically multi-disciplinary in nature: process, chemical, mechanical, and/or electrical.

Provide technical assistance to all manufacturing departments regarding the quality and/or performance of machinery, tooling, fixture, gauges, etc.

Serve as liaison between production and engineering departments by developing and managing the implementation of engineering change notices and process specifications pertaining to manufacturing processes and material specifications.

Responsible for maintaining a safe workplace. This includes ensuring compliance with all federal, state, and local environmental and safety regulations.

Identifies and implements manufacturing process changes in support of the plants continuous improvement and productivity improvement objectives.

Performs engineering analyses including but not limited to manufacturing simulations of new processes, make or buy, outsourcing, and line balancing.

Reviews project work to maintenance, automation/autoload technicians, and external contractors with appropriate follow-up and ultimate accountability to successfully hand over the respective projects to production.

Performs root cause analyses to determine causes of line defects and engages the appropriate organization to drive improvement in line yields.

Support and execute Lean Manufacturing efforts, i.e. develop SOP, TWI, and standard work for machine and process controls, RIE actions, 5S methodologies.

Manage and maintain site drawings including plant layouts, P&IDs, and process flow diagrams.

Perform other related duties as required.


Bachelor's Degree in a technical field, preferably Engineering.

5 to 10 years of experience with responsibility for manufacturing process support in a manufacturing environment.

Must be an adept and experienced problem solver who is able to determine root cause of technical issues and implement effective solutions in a timely manner.

Proficiency with machine automation and electrical machine troubleshooting.

Experience working in a high volume 24/7 manufacturing environment, metal finishing experience preferred.

Ability to work collaboratively across groups and have the ability to negotiate and distill requirements down to their basic elements.

Demonstrated lean problem-solving ability and continuous improvement implementations.

Must be available to respond to urgent situations, including working beyond scheduled hours (evenings and weekends as needed).

Proficient in SolidWorks and/or AutoCad.

Exposure to PLC programming for plant floor troubleshooting and repairs.
