Description Manufacturing Engineer (Cleveland Ohio)
Our client, an industry leader, mostly servicing Aerospace in the design and production of hydraulic, fuel, lubrication and coolant pumps, is currently hiring a Manufacturing Engineer.

This position is a Direct Hire role.

JOB SUMMARY:
The Manufacturing Engineer (ME) analyzes engineering design specifications, drawings and/or prototypes and makes recommendations concerning required methods, processes, tools, jigs, fixtures, etc., which are required to fabricate, assemble and test a product. ME is expected to identify value added projects and take initiative in executing them through completion, managing resources and capital, as required.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Improve operational productivity through increasing efficiency, consistency, ease, and repeatability in the assembly and test processes; often involving custom tooling and processes
Work closely with production to resolve manufacturing challenges, and diagnose and disposition non-conformant parts and assemblies in order to support on-time shipments to customers
Support cross functional team initiatives including new product launches and various technical and non-technical problem solving endeavors
Estimate product costs (labor, materials) for products
Responsible for fabrication, assembly, test, costing, continuous improvement and line support
Project management, including capital projects
Responsible for tool design and build relating to any new or existing products creation and maintenance of shop floor assembly processes and creating outers and work instructions for one entire product line which (Solidworks videos, Word documents and Excel worksheets)
Continuous Improvement & Process development in highly regulated environment, equipment qualification, process characterization, test method qualification and measurement system analysis for multiple lines
Provide daily floor support to assembly, machining and testing to assure shipping goals are met
Design Engineering support for new business initiatives, and design and build of tooling and fixtures for assembly

PREFERRED SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE:
Lean methodologies
Tooling/fixture design using Solidworks CAD
Technical understanding of mechanics, fluid dynamics, physics
General dimensioning and tolerancing
Project management, including capital projects
Manual assembly/test environment
Experience with assembly and test support
Hydraulics, Six sigma projects, Lean Manufacturing, Solidworks
Experience reviewing all pre-production manufacturing requirements for an entire product line of products and identifying and dispositioning discrepant materials
Skilled troubleshooting tasks on any problematic production assemblies or testing processes to determine root cause
Experience implementing Kanban, lean event, Kaizen or Six Sigma concept to assembly processes
Experience with equipment qualification, process characterization, ergonomic optimization, test method qualification and measure
