**Manufacturing Engineer Technician - Chemical, Carlsbad, CA**



**12 Month Contract via Kelly Services**



Description:



The philosophy of our manufacturing group is to create a workforce that is very flexible. Thus, a candidate for this position must be able and willing to perform a variety of tasks in several different work functions and must demonstrate a mechanical aptitude. Under general supervision, may be involved with the assembly, disassembly, testing and processing, storage, inspection, and labeling. Technician will be involved with handling various sizes of quartz glass and stainless-steel vessels. Personnel in this position must possess sound interpersonal and communication skills as well as situational judgment and thought process to work effectively in a strong team-oriented environment. A focus on quality and attention-to-detail is a strong must.

Important Note: The candidate must be willing to work any shift. If candidate cannot work any shift, please do not submit them for this position. Some amount of overtime is expected as business needs dictate which might include weekend work.

**Shifts**

5:00AM-1:30PM, M-F

1:00PM-9:30PM, M-F

9:00PM-5:30AM, M-F


**Qualifications:**

1. High school diploma or equivalent. General industry experience preferably in a manufacturing environment. (Equivalent education or military experience may be substituted for industry experience).

2. Ability to read and understand Safety Data Sheets and technical drawings.

3. Ability to wear full face air-purifying respirator and other PPE.

4. Ability to lift 50 pounds and perform other physical tasks required by the job.

5. Must possess a strong mechanical background/aptitude.

**Key Duties:**

1. Acid wash Teflon and stainless-steel valves.

2. Acid wash of stainless steel vessels.

3. Disassemble, inspect, re-assemble and helium leak check of stainless steel vessels and valves.

4. Wash, dry and inspect quartz and borosilicate glassware.

5. Work in cleanroom and maintain integrity and housekeeping of cleanroom.

6. Utilize a computer to input and retrieve data.

7. Apply PVC coating to quartz and borosilicate glassware.

8. Perform quality inspections.

9. General Housekeeping duties.

10. Assist with inorganic and organic chemical consolidation.

11. Decontaminate certain stainless steel and quartz vessels and complete any required documentation.

12. Make computer entries to document all stages of customer returned items.

13. Understand and have knowledge of inventory control and cycle counting.

14. Participate in Staple Operations Continuous Improvement Issue (Dent) Collection and Review process.


The successful candidate must be able to read and write fluently in English, understand written and verbal instructions and work well in a team environment.

A pre-placement Fit for Duty Evaluation is required for this assignment: Candidate will frequently lift / carry 25-35 lbs.; occasionally lift / carry 36-50 lbs.

Candidate may need to wear a full-face respirator.
