Description Manufacturing Engineer (Troy, MI)
Our client in Automotive Plastics, is currently hiring a Manufacturing Engineer to focus on Continuous Improvement methods centered around setting up and designing industrial methods and processes.

This person will work out of Troy, Mi and travel to plants in Huron, New Boston and Adrian, MI as required (less than 20%). Projects will focus on how to procure and plan a plant layout, defining capacity planning, designing material flow, and preparing theory and planning for new sites, and line set ups from acquisition to production.

Ideal fit for this role would be someone with a Continuous Improvement or Lean Manufacturing Background (Industrial Engineer that focuses procurement and planning of assembly equipment would be ideal). This person will work on theory, will not, for the most part, be hands on in the plant.
Position is a Full-time role, client prefers a temporary to hire model.

Responsibilities:
Gather info from cross functional teams across multiple plants with focus on Documentation control, FMEA, Controls Plans, and maintaining TS Quality System to ensure the engineers are following the correct procedures
Work with technical groups (Plant Managers, Quality Personnel, Industrial Engineers) and focus on setting and designing industrial methods, industrial processes, corporate guidelines and maintaining industrial procedures
Focus on Documentation control, FMEA, Controls Plans, Involved in TS Quality System ensuring the engineers are following the correct procedures
Support creation of industrial academy training process
Create supporting documentation
Coordinate and collect required information and data from assembly plants and regions
Monitor and update industrial reports
Work with plants and other functions to optimize process and documents
Support creation of industrial academy training process
Create supporting documentation such as industrial data sheets, emergency concept / concept data sheets, training documentation, and other engineering reports
Work with plants and other functions to optimize process and documents
Support creation of industrial academy training process

Qualifications:
Experience with procurement and planning of assembly equipment
This person will need to be able to speak with large groups of people to pass on training of procedures- Ability to speak comfortably in front of large audience, and train team members effectively
Background in Engineering documentation (engineering reports, bills of materials, etc.)
Bachelor’s Degree required, Engineering degree preferred, but not required
Positive attitude
Very well-versed in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint. Macros in Excel, a HUGE plus, but not required
Proficient in mathematics
Knowledge/experience in completing statistical analysis
Ability to work independently and with others
Problem solving ability
Mechanical aptitude
Microsoft Office Suite proficiency
5 plus years of relevant experience
