**JOB SUMMARY**


Our Client is a fully integrated cosmetic and personal care packaging supplier. We specialize in design, fabrication, anodizing, metallizing, injection molding, decorating, finishing, and assembly of anodized aluminum and metallized components and product packaging.


In this highly visible role, the Manufacturing Engineer Manager (MEM) will drive manufacturing processes consisting of stamping, degreasing, anodizing, injection molding, assembly, decorating, metalizing, waste treatment, and facilities systems to assure manufacturing processes are documented, deployed, and maintained. Emphasis on supporting and driving safety, operations, quality, cost, continuous improvement and reliability in equipment and process throughout all US facilities. This is a working manager position and requires substantial time on the plant floor.


**ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS**

Manage a team of Manufacturing Engineers that resolve day-to-day production issues that may impede the clients ability to ship quality products on time.

Resolve issues that are typically multi-disciplinary in nature: chemical, mechanical, and/or electrical.

Strives to continuously improve processes to achieve optimal efficiency for manufacturing operations.

Improving manufacturing operational efficiency, SMED, operational factory layout, improve ergonomic impact of work cells, record/document/implement standard work, improving product quality, improving customer satisfaction, and reducing manufacturing costs.

Provide technical assistance to all manufacturing departments regarding the quality and/or performance of machinery, tooling, fixture, gauges, etc.

Serve as liaison between production and engineering departments by developing engineering change notices and process specifications pertaining to manufacturing processes and material specifications.

Responsible for maintaining a safe workplace. This includes ensuring compliance with all federal, state, and local environmental and safety regulations through developing and/or enforcing safety rules and procedures.

Identifies and implements manufacturing process changes in support of the plants continuous improvement and productivity improvement objectives.

Performs engineering analyses including but not limited to manufacturing simulations of new processes, make vs. buy, outsourcing, and line balancing.

Analyzes plant installed capacity and takes appropriate action to assure supply plans can be supported.

Performs root cause analyses to determine causes of line defects and engages the appropriate organization to drive improvement in line yields.

Leads development and design of enhancements and modifications to existing processes and manufacturing equipment.

Support and execute Lean Manufacturing efforts, i.e., develop SOP, TWI, and standard work for machine and process controls, RIE actions, 5S methodologies.

Perform other related duties as required.


**QUALIFICATIONS**

The ideal candidate will have a bachelors degree in a technical field, Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required, engineering degree preferred.


Bachelors degree in Engineering or technical field (Chemical, Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial).

5+ years experience with responsibility for manufacturing process development or support, and formal leadership experience in a manufacturing environment.

Must be an adept and experienced problem solver who is able to determine root cause of technical issues and implements effective solutions in a timely manner.

Knowledge of machine automation, chemical process, and electrical machine trouble shooting.

Ability to lead and influence others, prior supervisory experience preferred

Experience working in a high volume 24/7 manufacturing environment, metal finishing experience preferred

Ability to work collaboratively across groups and can negotiate and distill requirements down to their basic elements.

Must be willing to demonstrate a high level of initiative, effectiveness, independence, and creativity in dealing with out-of-ordinary situations and conditions.

Demonstrated lean problem-solving ability and continuous improvement implementations

Must be available to respond to urgent situations, including working beyond scheduled hours (evenings and weekends as needed).

Additional consideration for SolidWorks, robot programming and AB PLC experience.


The Manager will manage Manufacturing Engineers in plants with primary function of anodizing utilizing chemical processing for production and wastewater treatment. Most processes involve chemical processing, fluid pumps, piping, chemical storage, mechanical conveyance and PLC, robot, or relay logic controls. High consideration will be used for candidates with some or all these experiences.
