Kelly Services is currently looking to hire a **Manufacturing Engineering Technician** to work for one of our top Medical Device clients on-site in **Wilmington, MA** for a contract position. This is an excellent opportunity to work with a renown company in an exciting industry.


The **Manufacturing Engineering Technician** performs a variety of complex chemical, machining, inspection, and packaging operations relating to the manufacture of contact lens materials. In this position you will assume a hands-on role in accountability for facets of the business that facilitate smooth, uninterrupted production flow, safe use of equipment, and accurate training and documentation.


**Responsibilities:**


+ Performs complex chemical, machining, inspection and packaging, operations, in an OSHA/FDA/ISO/EH S regulated environment requiring eye, hand, auditory and respiratory protection.

+ Advocate LEAN initiatives Kanban and support LEAN concepts 5S as they apply throughout the organization.

+ Monitor product flow, velocity and yields among other metrics. Set up and troubleshoot equipment. Monitor, record and report any unusual problems to Production Supervisor.

+ Work with technical services personnel to integrate new equipment and manufacturing processes into the production environment, including document review, start-up, troubleshooting, debugging, validation, and training. Coordinate the timely completion of experimental lots through the manufacturing process to ensure that project schedules are met.

+ With little direct supervision, work collaboratively with the other Production Technicians to equitably divide daily tasks. Technician is encouraged act autonomously when confident his/her actions are appropriate and correct. As expected, questions will arise which should be answered or resolved collaboratively with a more senior technician and/or supervisor.

+ Assist the Production Supervisor in the training of technicians in the use of documents, chemical/machinery process, process flow, and instruments in a safe GMP environment.

+ Prepared and ready to offer observations to peers and supervisor regarding the scheduling and flow of product based on chemical characteristics i.e. expiry dates, mechanical constraints i.e. rack size, long/slow cook, shipment schedule to Isomedix, etc.

+ As skills allow, identify, and clearly communicate innovative ideas related to improving the Manufacturing processes, documentation, workflow, equipment, methods, etc.


**Qualifications:**


+ Good attendance record and excellent work ethic.

+ Knowledge of CAMS or other manufacturing computer software.

+ Experience with machining or other technical process.

+ Must have general record keeping skills, basic math skills, excellent communication, and basic computer skill.


**Preferred:**


+ 5 - 10 years medical device manufacturing experience with expertise in chemical, machining, inspection, and packaging operations.

+ Familiarity with quality systems, and GMP/ISO regulations

+ QSR/GMPs, ISO9000, ISO14001, Hazard Communication, Emergency Response, RCRA/Hazardous Materials, Personal Protective Equipment, ADC software navigation.
