**Title: Manufacturing Manager**


**Location: El Segundo, CA**


**Job Type: Direct-Hire, Full-Time (M-F 7am-4pm), On-Site**


**Job Summary:**

The Manager, Manufacturing Is the primary point of management for cell therapy or vaccines manufacturing in collaboration with Quality, Engineering, Maintenance and Supply Chain to meet output goals, targets and track and report KPIs (Key Performance Indicators).


**DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES**

o Manages operation of a manufacturing facility in a cGMP compliant environment meeting planned production outputs with allocated resources

o Hires, develops and mentors exceptional individual contributors and front-line leaders

o Collaborates within Manufacturing, cross-functionally, with senior leadership and outside vendors to meet production outputs and to bring about continuous improvement

o Ensures deviations, CAPA, change controls, process transfers, and other business drivers are supported and driven to completion

o Reviews and approves validation documents in support of manufacturing processes

o Facilitates/leads technology transfers from Process Development and participates in any CMO interface as required

o Ensures the generation, revision and continuous improvement of SOPs, MBRs, and EOPs for equipment and processes used in routine manufacturing

o Ensures and assesses process monitoring using databases and documents to support on-going production requirements and improvements and for reporting purposes

o Ensures issues, mistakes and problems are investigated and resolved, identifying root causes and proposed corrections through clear communication

o Provides the necessary development and ongoing coaching, discipline and recognition of direct staff, including performing annual performance reviews

o Performs other duties as assigned


**REQUIREMENTS**

o 7-10 years of experience and a Bachelors of Science in Chemical Engineering, Genetics, Molecular Biology, Microbiology, Biochemistry, or a related field or equivalent of ten (10) or more years of relevant industry experience,

o Five (5) or more years in a management role

o Proven track record of managing a cGMP facility and manufacturing associates

o Extensive experience running manufacturing-scale equipment including setup, sampling, troubleshooting hardware and software

o A proven track record of accomplishments and timely delivery of manufacturing targets and goals

o Experience in aseptic processing and cGMP manufacturing

o Well-versed in manufacturing and production, especially in the area of biologicals


**KNOWLEDGE / SKILLS / ABILITIES:**

o Knowledge of biological processes and outcomes

o Knowledge of biologics, aseptic processing and cGMP manufacturing

o Complex Problem Solving Skill: Identifying complex problems and reviewing related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions using continuous improvement tools

o Critical Thinking: Using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems

o Judgment and Decision Making: Considering the relative costs and benefits of potential actions to choose the most appropriate one

o Speaking and listening: Presenting to others to convey information professionally and effectively. Listening so as to duplicate exactly what has been said and appropriately acknowledging the speaker

o Deductive Reasoning: The ability to apply general rules to specific problems to produce answers that make sense

o Available to work a flexible schedule, including occasionally coming in nights and weekends to support critical operations

o Ability to adapt quickly to changing work priorities

o Ability to embrace change
