Kelly Science & Clinical is seeking a Manufacturing Process Scientist to join their team in Newark, CA for a molecular pathology company developing cell- and tissue-based diagnostic tests for personalized medicine. **Location: Newark, CA (100% onsite)**


**Contract: Contract Duration = ~6-9 Months (full-time/non-exempt/W-2)**


**Pay Rate: $45/Hour**


**Schedule/Shift: Monday Friday/1** **st** **= 8:00 AM 5:00 PM**

Our core RNAscope technology is the worlds first multiplex fluorescent and chromogenic in situ hybridization platform capable of detecting and quantifying RNA biomarkers in situ at single molecule sensitivity. Position Description:


We seek a highly creative and driven Manufacturing Process Scientist to join our Development team. You will work within a highly dynamic group serving as a resource and liaison between Development and Manufacturing. You will participate in new product transfer, reagent scale-up, process improvement, and troubleshooting activities.


Key Responsibilities:


+ Participate in and/or manage cross-functional teams in the technical transfer of new products from Development to Manufacturing.

+ Participate in and/or lead the development of scale-up activities for existing and new products.

+ Participate in and/or lead process development, product, and equipment validation studies.

+ Prepare Validation/Qualification protocols and reports, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Manufacturing Procedures (MRPs), specifications, and other documentation.

+ Identify, install, and qualify new manufacturing equipment and instrumentation; including preparing qualification protocols and reports, SOPs, and operator training.

+ Provide technical support to Manufacturing and QC in the investigation and resolution of Nonconformances (NCP), Corrective and Preventative Action (CAPA), Planned Deviations, and Process Changes.

+ Participate in and/or lead process improvement activities.

+ Participate in product and process Risk assessments.


Qualifications:


+ MS/PhD in chemistry, biochemical/process engineering, manufacturing sciences, or related field with a minimum 2 years of industry experience in the Biotechnology environment.

+ Excellent interpersonal skills and verbal/written communication skills.

+ Strong team player, self-motivated, and willing to learn new techniques and concepts.

+ Excellent documentation skills.

+ Excellent hands-on experience performing experiments using basic lab equipment.

+ Excellent computer skills including MS Office and statistical data analysis programs such as Jump or Mini-tab.

+ Ability to generate results and perform work with minimal supervision.


Preferred Qualifications:


+ Knowledge of design control process, product stability studies, process/product validation (e.g., mixing, shipping, filling, test methods, etc.), and specification setting (e.g., product, process, and material specifications).

+ Knowledge in product transfer and manufacturing in compliance with QSR and ISO quality systems.

+ Experience working under GMP guidelines.

+ Experience in tissue/cell-based assays such as immunohistochemistry and in situ hybridization.
