Description **Manufacturing/Quality Engineer – Kansas City, MO**

**RESPONSIBILITIES**


+ Implement process improvements to reduce scrap and CPH.
+ Identify improvements to Customer standard work, make recommendations to Customer and obtain Customer approval.
+ Gather data from customer and internal sources as input for problem solving and communicate/report to appropriate personnel. Interact with the company’s staff within the locations and within the Company and all customer and prospective customer representatives.
+ Administer all projects and documentation (quality system) relative to assigned processes/launches (i.e. operator instructions (SWS, WES), PFMEA’s and process control plans)
+ Process Analysis – provide input on processes from a quality perspective, aid in implementation of new processes.
+ Develop and design irreversible corrective actions for known problems. Use established problem solving techniques to reduce process variation.
+ Manage quality processes and reports as required
+ Actively coach the organization concerning quality with tools and reports.
+ Support the Quality Manager in the maintenance of Quality System including document control, and internal/external audit activities.
+ Generate, interpret, analyze, and communicate results using management tools, graphs, and reports.
+ Process Control – provide input on document enhancement and retention; maintain ISO documentation and controls, administer activities required to maintain ISO certification, and actively coach the organization for maintaining ISO system.
+ Initiate containment activities for issues identified at customer.
+ Manage process auditors (attendance, overtime, coordinate training and cross training, etc).
+ Co-ordinate new product introduction, working in conjunction with customer and local plant personnel.
+ Co-ordinate running changes / product changes.
+ Review content of New Model Year (NMY) introduction and review it against current processes and make recommendation to customer.
+ Support H-D builds at as needed.
+ Attend meetings with customer on Pilot build & Model Year for Readiness reviews.
+ Broaden communication within the company’s facility in preparation of future build.
+ Provide leadership and support to continuous improvement initiatives at the plant level including work studies to analyze work systems and develop standards, allowances and/or improvements to existing systems, providing input for the development of functional layouts that minimize space, material transit distance and provide flexibility for expansion, and utilize simulation software to analyze and/or improve work systems.
+ Utilize the company’s lean standards in everyday assignments and analysis including: line balance, PFEP, value stream maps, engineering studies, and resource requirement sheets.
+ Champion lean awareness as necessary SW, 5s, TPM, JIT, and mistake proofing.
+ Other duties as assigned that are within scope of responsibility.
+ Conform to the processes and requirements of the synchronized management system.
+ Achieve effectiveness of the synchronized management system by following the Quality Policy and meeting company objectives.
**Requirements**


+ This position requires Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or related field (Master’s preferred); however, experience may be considered in lieu of education.
+ 3+ years of work experience working in an automotive or logistics environment working in a quality capacity.
+ Strong computer skills in Microsoft office required
+ Knowledge with the different customer systems and the company’s processes and procedures
