Quality Control Inspector - Work Location Same as Customer Location Work Specifications Quantity Requested: 1 Job Code: LA40 Customer Job Title: Manufacturing Quality Technician Job Description: Full JD follows but this is a Quality Assurance position for roof shingles. Top three skills/qualities the client is looking for are manufacturing experience, having worked in a lab and computer savviness. The reason this position is open is because the last candidate was not thick skinned enough to have tough conversation and push back with the production team must have strong verbal and written communication skills . Candidates should have a high attention to detail as they will be working alone. The position is more computer based then manual but candidates will be putting hands and conducting test on products. Past experience with managing excel type data is highly preferred. 50,000/year hourly position Please submit candidate resumes to Lori Graham; lori.graham gaf.com and to Allison Wright; allison.wright gaf.com The Quality Technician will perform various quality systems and testing activities for the manufacturing operation, including raw material and process fluid testing, quality audits, plant trials, and quality lab maintenance and organization. Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Conduct finished product quality audits Generate data to maintain control charts and statistical reports Perform routine physical property tests Communicate with production operators and leaders Audit operator testing Make real-time product accept/reject decisions Perform plant trial run testing Maintain lab operator test instrument calibrations and documentation Complete all activities safely and actively work to reduce the risk of injury in the plant ESSENTIAL DUTIES Routine testing of manufactured shingles, in-process fluids and critical raw materials as needed Execute communication, documentation, investigation, and testing of production line off-quality issues, including accept/reject decisions Conduct routine audits of identified production testing activities and finished goods to monitor performance of plant quality systems Complete assigned sampling and testing to support Plant Trial Runs Conduct and coordinate calibration and maintenance of operator quality lab testing equipment. Maintain QA Lab housekeeping Utilize and maintain various computer-based programs to store and analyze process and product data for degree of stability and conformance to standards Attend and participate in daily crew meetings Follow all safety policies and procedures and actively participate in continuous safety improvement efforts Perform other duties as assigned TECHNICAL KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS - spread sheet experience is highly preferred.
