LOCATION: On-site Carlsbad, CA
SCHEDULE: Mon Fri (1st shift)
**Summary:**
The Manufacturing Scientist I for Tissue Culture will be responsible to produce monoclonal antibody production by use of Tissue Culture methods. These methods may include roller bottle production and bioreactor/wave bag production. This individual will function as an integral member of the Antibody Manufacturing team.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following (other duties may be assigned.):
The successful candidate demonstrates a sense of urgency, contagious optimism and a can do attitude. They lead by example and hold themselves and others accountable, while maintaining productive and professional relationships within the team.
**The primary responsibilities are as follows:**
Follow all department policies and procedures
Prepare and initiate all prep work and documents for assigned work orders independently
Complete assigned work orders in a timely manner
Culture cell lines through roller bottle and wave production
Thaw and maintain cells independently
Freeze cells as necessary and log into cell bank accurately
Input data into Filemaker database
Revise/Create documents (SOPs, batch records) as necessary
Initiate problem reports and assist with investigations
Attend daily tier meetings and escalate issues timely and effectively
Maintain lab supplies inventory and re-order as necessary
Perform inventory transactions as necessary
Prepare tissue culture media as necessary
**Qualifications:**
Bachelor of Science degree in Biology, Chemistry, or related field preferred; 0-3 years of experience in a lab environment, preferably in a manufacturing environment; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
**The Manufacturing Scientist I ideally will have experience in a variety of areas to support the business objectives:**
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite products with emphasis on Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Word
Strong laboratory mathematical skills
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Ability to work in a multidisciplinary team environment
Strong analytical and problem solving skills
Team player (demonstrated experience working in support of a successful project team)
Good interpersonal skills
Works well in a metrics-focused environment
Well organized and detail oriented.
Strong interpersonal skills

The noise level in the environment is usually moderate.
