Are you ready to work for the world's largest tool company? Kelly Professional & Industrial has a direct placement/perm opportunity for a **2nd Shift Manufacturing Supervisor** in **New Britain, CT.**


As a Manufacturing Supervisor, youll be part of the Global Tools & Storage team located in New Britain, CT. The Manufacturing Supervisors responsibility is to develop and maintain successful team operations for the manufacture of tape rules and/or knife blades. Specifically, youll:


+ Provide teams with direction, priorities, focus and boundaries

+ Provide resources and expertise in the manufacturing process, systems, training, and employee relations

+ Encourage communication and feedback

+ Develop and implement (or assist with) all phases of team or individualized training

+ Planning: set long and short term production schedules for employees in the respective production areas

+ Manufacturing Operations: assist in maintaining effective operating departments by controlling activity within prescribed quality standards, production levels, and cost levels, while keeping a focus on safety and manufacturing objectives

+ Ability to physically be on the shop floor up to 90% of the shift (Walking/Mobility)

+ Maintain good employee relations by applying Plant policies and guidelines, and interpreting the Collective Bargaining Agreements

+ Participates in the selection and training of new personnel

+ Recommends process improvements, changes in equipment, tooling or manufacturing processes; submits ideas for cost savings

+ Maintain required information and records necessary for efficient operations and controls. Maintain production standards in areas of responsibility

+ Promotes safe work habits of subordinates and compliance with safety rules in work areas. Maintains and clean and orderly work environment

+ Assists in the preparation of departmental budgets when required. Helps to control costs throughout the year

+ Actively promotes the principles of lean manufacturing; participates in Kaizen activities as required

+ Compliance to all Plant Environmental, Health and Safety policies and Environmental and OSHA regulatory requirements


Requirements:


+ 4 year college degree (BA, etc.) preferred

+ PC knowledge/computer literate

+ Familiarity with manufacturing environment

+ Union experience within a supervisory role

+ Knowledge of production planning

+ Independent worker (must be able to assign and complete assignments independently)

+ Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing concepts

+ Understanding and support of Company policies and procedures
