**Oligo Manufacturing Technician - Biotech (Petaluma, CA)**

**Full Time, Temp to Hire Opportunity!**


**Work Schedules:**


+ **Day shift: Monday - Friday, 8am to 4:30pm**

+ **Swing shift: Monday - Friday, 3pm to 11:30pm (training will be on day shift schedule)**

+ Possible OT on weekends, depending on needs.


**Position Summary:**


The Diagnostic Oligo Manufacturing Technician I position is responsible for manufacture of GMP-grade oligonucleotides for customers performing mission critical diagnostic testing and research. Production laboratories include DNA synthesis, HPLC purification, mass spectrometry, and formulation.


Technicians are expected to perform manufacturing activities in compliance with company procedures and external regulatory requirements as directed by the departmental supervisor, manager or director.


**Essential Functions:**


To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential function satisfactorily.


+ Perform manufacturing activities according to written protocols, as directed by the departmental supervisor, manager or director.

+ Maintain batch records, equipment logs and other production records as directed per company procedures.

+ Maintain a clean an orderly laboratory environment.

+ Perform routine maintenance of equipment used in manufacturing.

+ Assist in the training of new employees

+ Troubleshoot process and instrument related issues and seek guidance from management as necessary.

+ Work on special projects with the guidance and support of the departmental team lead, supervisor, manager, or director.

+ Review manufacturing procedures and documentation used in the GMP and Commercial Services manufacturing labs and give feedback on documents that need revision. Initiate Change control with guidance of the supervisor, manager, director or quality representative.

+ Support manufacturing technicians and associates on daily procedures.

+ Initiate support tickets or repair tickets as necessary.

+ Monitor lab environment, take action in response to incidents, and find long term solutions for safety risks.

+ Initiate and execute deviation and non-conformance (DNR) Action plans.


**Education/Experience:**


+ This position requires a Bachelor's degree in Life Science or Science related field.

+ Some GMP related industry experience preferred.

+ Computer literacy and experience with standard computer programs (Outlook, Microsoft Word, Excel, Web Browser, etc.) is required.

+ Some instrumentation (e.g. HPLC, IR, MS) experience or knowledge preferred.

+ Experience with AKTAs, Waters Analytical HPLC/ Mass Spec, and UNICORN software is a plus.


**Other Skills and Abilities:**


+ Self-motivated with the ability to work independently as well as on teams

+ Professional presence and strong attention to detail is required

+ Technical proficiency that enables effective execution of documented procedures

+ Demonstrated experience with common computer software packages (Windows, MS Office, etc.)

+ Able to multi-task work in a fast paced environment.

+ Attention to detail and a methodical approach to tasks.

+ Strong communication and problem solving abilities are necessary.


**Working Conditions:**


**Environment:** Primarily in the laboratory environment including but not limited to walk in freezer, refrigerator, synthesis lab, purification lab, formulation lab, QC lab, reagent shed, consumable cage, waste cage, etc.


**Protective clothing or equipment** **required** (for example, steel-toe shoes, hearing or eye protection, etc.). Must adhere to company PPE policy.


**Hazardous or caustic materials** : Occasional handling of hazardous or caustic chemicals
