Position: Marketing Assistant

Location: Shelton WA

Days: Mon-Fri

Hours: 8am-5pm

Duration: 16 weeks (potentially longer)

Pay: $30-$37hr (DOE)


Our client, a hospital in the Shelton area, is looking for a contract Marketing Assistant for the next 16 weeks. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter, have prior experience with a wide range of marketing and communication functions, including writing, editing, media buys, digital marketing, and social media. The marketing coordinator must be an organized multitasker able to handle many diverse projects, enjoy a fast-paced environment and meet tight deadlines and be self-directed and complete assignments with a superior level of accountability with minimal supervision.


This position will be charged with assisting with the creation and publication of key district communication collateral. The marketing coordinator will also contribute to existing marketing programs, while assisting with the development of new initiatives aligned with the organizations organizational goals, and objectives.


Core Responsibilities:


+ Reports to the CDO/CCO and supports the marketing, communication, and community outreach efforts of the District, including administrative aspects of various marketing, communication, and outreach efforts.

+ With a journalistic point of view, the successful candidate will be able to perform the following in alignment with the organizations culture: research on different topics, analyze and interpret findings by breaking down data, identify and propose newsworthy stories to the CDO, Interview key people (employees, volunteer, patients, sources, etc.) and write content with readers needs and Patients First focus.

+ Assist with preparing multi-media and traditional marketing and communication collateral including updating of electronic reader boards signs and banners that display information to the patients and public.

+ Prepare support materials for marketing and advertising strategies, plans, and objectives; planning and organizing promotional presentations, updating calendars, and creating project plan timelines.

+ Provides support for meetings, events, and trade shows by identifying, assembling, and coordinating requirements; establishing contacts; developing schedules and assignments; coordinating mailing lists in collaboration with Development Office Staff and Volunteer Services Department

+ Keeps promotional materials ready by coordinating requirements with graphics department; inventorying stock; placing orders; verifying receipt.

+ Coordinate with the contracted writers and graphic design teams to help deliver content that meets District designee/CDO & CCO specifications as assigned.

+ Prepare letters and emails to customers in response to questions or to provide clarification on ongoing projects and relaying customer requests.

+ Contribute to and support the creation of press releases, website, and social media content.

+ Photographs events using digital devices and video cameras. Stores, edits, and reprints images as requested.

+ Prepares advertising reports by collecting and summarizing data.

+ Assists with preparing and monitoring of advertising budgets

+ Coordinate day-to-day activities that lead to the completion of projects and tasks associated with the marketing, communication, and development responsibilities.

+ Accomplishes organization goals by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.


Preferred Experience:


+ Proven work experience as a staff writer or reporter

+ Demonstrable portfolio of published articles


Requirements:


+ Computer proficiency (Microsoft Office, digital editing, web search and databases)

+ Superior writing, editing, proofreading and verbal communication skills.

+ Ability to adhere to deadlines, fact-check information and operate in a fast-paced environment with a high degree accountability and execute on assignment with minimal supervision.

+ Excellent observation skills.

+ BS degree in journalism, communications, English, or relevant field.

+ Direct Marketing and Advertising Experience, Excellent Written and Verbal Communication Skills, Research, Coordination, Project Management, Reporting Research Results, Understanding the Customer Experience, Process Improvement, Initiative, Planning, Financial Skills.
