Description and Requirements

The Director, Conference & Event Planning will be responsible for enhancing WCGs corporate identity and promoting awareness of the Company, its subsidiary brands, and integrated solutions through strong management of WCGs presence at trade shows, conferences and events.  This position will be responsible for the successful planning and coordination of the Companys participation at trade shows, conferences, hosted social events and virtual events.  This position will work out of our Princeton NJ office.


  • Effectively design a holistic conference and event calendar, inclusive of corporate (WCG) and affiliate brand events, harnessing synergies across the organization to ensure the most fulsome WCG presence in front of critical audiences
  • Assure that event presence supports the overall Marketing strategy and goals
  • Manage budget associated with conference presence, marketing, promotional items
  • Develop guidelines for speaker and attendee participation, to ensure consistent brand and employee presence
  • Work closely with Marketing team members, and with Strategy, Business Development and divisional team members to inform strategy, planning and execution of conference calendar
  • Ensure all deadlines are met within company policies and procedures and that all departmental goals and objectives are achieved within the context of conferences and events
  • Enhance WCGs visibility, maintain favorable Company image
  • Coordinate trade show and event platforms, related graphics and promotional activities to support the WCG mission and strategy.
  • Enhance trade show properties, updating with new technologies and innovation.
  • Manage trade show-related and customer events; assist with other events as requested.
  •  Develop show/event strategies, reflective of sales and marketing goals.
  • Negotiate event discounts/advantages on behalf of the company; identify cost-savings and opportunities for consolidation.
  • Ensure timely execution and production of key deliverables (including trade show communications and support materials).
  • Work across WCG organization and partners with respect to relevant events.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with event vendors, hotels, convention centers, exhibit houses, labor, and industry organizations.
  • Serve as Project Manager for cross-alliance events and co-opted exhibits.

  • Bachelors Degree required; Marketing, Communications, or Hospitality degree preferred.
  • A minimum of 7 years managing events, trade shows, or educational programs.  
  • Excellent communications, organizational and interpersonal skills, and strong analytical ability.  
  • Creative thinker and fast learner, ability to communicate ideas effectively.   
  • Able to successfully translate company objectives into creative show/event platforms.  Skilled at managing event staff and external vendors in order to maximize productivity of department.  
  • Must be able to travel approximately 40% or more to scout venues and manage events on-site.
