**Job Description**

Kelly Services is currently seeking Material Handlers for a client in Kennesaw, GA. The successful Material Handler performs a combination of tasks including but not limited to receiving, filling, shipping, and inspecting orders accurately and in a timely manner. The Material Handler efficiently and safely loads, unloads, and conveys materials. All shifts available.

Shift Times:

1st: 6:45a-3:15p

2nd: 2:45p-11:15p

3rd: 10:45a-7:15a

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

1. Receives, locates, and transfers materials accurately and in a timely manner.

2. Opens containers utilizing hand tools as needed; counts and weighs materials and records


3. Identifies damaged materials and records material shortages.

4. Loads and unloads materials onto and from a variety of containers including but not limited to

trucks, conveyors, racks, pallets, and/or trays; utilizes appropriate tools to accomplish task.

5. Transports incoming and outgoing materials to designated areas utilizing appropriate tools/vehicles

to accomplish task including but not limited to wheelbarrow, hand truck, forklift, electric dolly,

and/or elevator.

6. Assists machine operators as needed by lifting heavy objects by hand or by use of power hoist or

overhead crane.

7. Stacks and assembles materials.

8. Maintains a safe, clean working environment.

9. Participates in quality improvement efforts.

10. Performs required administrative tasks; prepares all required reports and correspondence.

11. Performs other duties as assigned by manager.


QUALIFICATIONS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

(1) Knowledge of:

Safe work practices including lifting and moving techniques.

Safe operation of a forklift.

Safe operation of an overhead crane.

(2) Ability to:

Work with minimal supervision.

Use hands and arms in handling, installing, positioning, and moving materials, and

manipulating things.

Handle multiple projects and meet deadlines.


High School Diploma or GED desired and two or more years of related experience.


- Overhead crane certified, or the willingness to be certified within six months of employment in this


- Forklift certified or the willingness to be certified within six months of employment in this position.
