**_Materials Scientist/Engineer_**

We are seeking a Materials Scientist & Engineer to support the development of our next generation medicine manufacturing platforms. Our manufacturing platform is comprised of modules that can chemically synthesize active pharmaceutical ingredients, purify crude products, and formulate into finished drug product. These modules are miniaturized and mobile and can be deployed anywhere in the world to strengthen pharmaceutical supply chain and enable local production of medicines.

**_This position will be responsible for:_**

Designing and prototyping new material composites that meet operational requirements for chemical compatibility, temperature, and pressure to develop the next generation of medicine making platforms.

Processing of polymers, glass, metal, and ceramic composites that enable new approaches for formulation, fill/finish and packaging to produce FDA-approved drugs.

Hardening of technology hardware.

Maintaining the company's leading edge by creating new technical platforms and capabilities.

Delivering results in a high paced environment.

**_Minimum Hiring Standards:_**

Bachelors or Masters in Materials Science & Engineering.

Experience with design tools, such as SolidWorks or AutoCAD, for the design and prototyping of composite materials.

Experience with industrial manufacturing technologies and processes for various materials, including polymers/plastics, glass, metals, ceramics, and nanomaterials. Examples include 3D printing, injection molding, blow molding, extrusion, curing, photolithography from meso-scale to macro-scale.

Experience with modeling and simulation tools, including FMEA.

Strong management and interpersonal skills.

Ability to work collaboratively with multi-disciplinary cross-functional research teams

Strong written/oral skills required, and ability to communicate technical concepts to a non-technical audience

Energy and passion to thrive in a start-up environment and to deliver on the mission of the company

**_Preferred Hiring Standards:_**

Individuals with > 5 years experience and training preferred.

Candidates with experience in continuous processing of chemicals, materials, or pharmaceuticals.
