**Materials Specialist**


**Temp to Hire**


**$25 per hour**


**Position Summary**


As a Materials Specialist at a company in Longmont, CO, you will be a key contributor completing the work activities necessary to achieve the on-time and in-full shipment of orders to external and internal customers. Through this high impact, detail-oriented role, you will have the opportunity to tap into your desire to arrange shipping and receiving transactions and physical inventory storage in an orderly and efficient way to make your workday effective. When problems arise, you will have the ability to coordinate the problem solving and corrective actions necessary to keep work going. The company thin film deposition Systems allow companies to apply functional, durable, and high-performance coatings and finishes on a broad range of consumer and industrial products.


**Essential Functions and Responsibilities**


**_As a Shipping and Receiving Specialist_**


+ Manage the shipment and receipt of all products, materials, and supplies.

+ Collaborate and communicate with logistics suppliers, purchasing, customer service, production and others involved in the shipment and receipt of materials.

+ Track, trace and update the status of incoming and outgoing shipments.

+ Promptly and accurately unload deliveries, sort, transitionally receive and stock receipts.

+ Process returns goods shipments and receipts, completing returned goods paperwork.

+ Monitor carriers performance including freight costs cooperatively with Finance and Purchasing including providing recommendations on carrier and route alternatives to optimize reliability, speed, and cost.

+ Maintain a clean and safe work area and update supplies as needed.


**_As an Inventory Control Specialist_**


+ Manage the cycle counts of materials to ensure the effective accounting of materials from raw materials, work-in-process to finished goods.

+ Organize inventory of materials and supplies using sorting, racking, shelves, carts, or bins to establish orderliness.

+ Conduct frequent spot and partial audits of physical inventory.

+ Coordinate periodic (at least annual) physical inventory audits.

+ Maintain updated and accurate records of inventory, including transfers and cycle counts.

+ Cross-check inventory accuracy with system entries.

+ Promote a culture of disciplined material handling from purchase orders to shipments.

+ Supplier Quality and Delivery, Shipping Defect Monitoring and Control; On-Time In-Full Shipments, Inventory Accuracy, Freight Costs.


**Skills & Knowledge**


+ To ensure you can perform the responsibilities of this role.

+ Experience managing transactions in ERP software to ensure accurate and timely accounting of materials.

+ Ability to problem solve and clearly communicate resolution to discrepancies in purchase orders, invoices, and receipts.

+ Ability to write routine reports and correspondence exhibiting a high level of professionalism.

+ Strong sense of time organization, prioritization, and urgency.

+ Lean certification or experience a plus.


**Qualifications**


+ To set you up for success in this role from day one, the company requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:

+ High school diploma or equivalent required, college degree in business administration or similar a plus; 5+ years of relevant work experience in customer service, sourcing, materials, warehousing, distribution and/or shipping.

+ Experience working in a low volume and high mix, lean manufacturing and/or distribution environments.

+ Forklift certification within 60 days of job entry date.

+ Certification in ASCMs CPIM; documented continued education in materials management.

+ Must be authorized to work in the US.
