**Mechanical Designer**


Kelly Engineering Resources is searching for a Mechanical Designer on behalf of our Green Bay based client. Our client is in the web handling industry where they manufacturer rolling dies & rolling solutions that emboss or engrave paper & plastic materials as well as paper converting machinery (slitters, rewinding, web handling). In this role, you will report to the design leader and will create production drawing using Solidworks for both the rolling dies and the converting machinery.


Our client is open to hiring on either a contract to hire basis or a direct hire basis.



**Essential Responsibilities**


+ Create detailed drawings for manufacturing based on design specifications and layout drawings.

+ Create bills of material for purchasing and manufacturing based on design specifications and layout drawings.

+ Help find solutions to customer requests. Assist applications with customer inquiries regarding technical applications, quoting, manufacturing, and delivery capabilities, etc.

+ Check product design and specifications for compatibility with manufacturing capabilities and value (internal or external). Recommend changes in design or specifications as needed to reduce cost, add value, increase manufacturing efficiency or improve performance.

+ Perform project management duties in support of order processing and manufacturing including coordination with customers, suppliers, outside sales representatives and all internal functions.

+ Sets up preliminary manufacturing routings and assists in providing solutions to shop problems.

+ Maintain records, files and databases for future reference.

+ Assist with customer complaints and warranty issues as needed. Work with others in organization to provide solutions or rework options.


**Qualifications of the Successful Mechanical Designer**


+ Bachelor or Associate degree in Technology or Engineering with three to five years of experience OR 5+ equivalent years of experience design & manufacturing experience within the web handling industry in lieu of degree

+ Proficiency in MS Office include Word, Excel

+ Proficient with AutoCAD and Solidworks

+ Technical aptitude with the knowledge of or ability to learn engineering concepts related to web handling, stress and deflection, heat-transfer, fluid dynamics, metals and metallurgy, plating and coatings, rubber covering, balancing and power transmission.

+ Technical knowledge of or ability to learn machining and manufacturing procedures and practices.

+ Interpersonal skills:

+ Good oral and written communicator.

+ Ability to work in a team environment.

+ Ability to work independently without supervision.

+ Ability to effectively balance between customer satisfaction and optimizing financial returns
