Mechanical Engineer (Cleveland, Ohio)
Kelly Engineering is currently seeking a Mechanical Project Engineer for one of our top clients in the Cleveland, Ohio area. Our client is experiencing significant growth and looking to add talented individuals, like yourself to their wonderful culture.
This position is a full-time role, starting off as a Contractor working for Kelly Services. Client does not have budget to add headcount but has a lot of Engineering work. Once a position on their organizational chart opens this person will be converted to a Direct Hire, timeline is 12 months or less.
The Mechanical Engineer will manage design projects for new and existing products, working with a team cradle to grave prototyping, developing and testing new products.
Hybrid onsite/ remote/ satellite arrangement acceptable.
Essential Responsibilities:
Responsible for managing a project from start to finish, including initial design.
He/she conducts and/or oversees designs, analysis, scheduling, customer interface and drawings. Projects are managed and coordinated with all aspects of manufacturing, sales and customer interfacing.
Essential Functions:
Project management including scheduling and customer interface
Perform or oversee design, drawings analysis, scheduling and build
Provides engineering assistance to all other departments
Perform stress analysis
Product design/modification to support new and existing product lines
Manage new product design and implementation from concept to production
Create CAD designs and drawings per customer orders and specifications
Revise CAD drawings as required by customer or internal (QRP) needs
Check drawings.
Using Cad software such as Inventor to create/update electronic models and drawings
Design new products
Use word processing software, (Microsoft (MS) Word, Excel, and/or similar) and project software
Interfaces with and assists all other departments needing engineering assistance
Create test procedures and write test reports
Continually research methods/equipment relative to product improvement.
Interacts with every department to accomplish company-wide goals, ensure quality and customer satisfaction, and to help limit non-conformances.
Able to work outside of the framework of a traditional desk job by performing go-and-sees to ensure items are processed quickly within the framework of the business.
Participates in team meetings and works well with team members. Actively participates in continuous improvement activities to assist team in meeting goals related to quality, cost, delivery, safety and morale.
Other Duties:
Attends meetings as needed.
Provide support and documentation for audits.
Maintain strong relationships within the company.
Participates in training as needed.
Works in other departments to help meet customer commitments as needed, which may include hands-on work with components and materials.
Tasks:
Manage new design of a product from its conception through production.
Oversee other designers and engineers work.
Interfaces with and assists all other departments needing engineering assistance.
Design new products and coordinate with customer.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Observes all safety regulations in all duties.
Performs other duties as required.
Check drawings.
Report writing and scheduling.
Education/Qualifications:
4 year Mechanical/Manufacturing or closely related engineering degree and 3 years experience in a related technical field.
Working knowledge of CAD software.
Ability to read, comprehend and work with the structures of Nationally Organized Standards.
Solid communications skills.
Working knowledge of manufacturing concepts, processes and systems.
Demonstrate ability to produce engineering documents that are accurate and display attention to detail.
Ability to manage multiple projects.
