Description Mechanical Engineer (Cleveland, Ohio)
Our client, a leading a global manufacturer of the highest quality welding, cutting and joining solutions, is currently hiring a Mechanical Engineer. This position will support Facility Engineering projects, including construction of new Technology Center.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Responsible for capital improvement projects and equipment repair projects from inception through design and implementation.
Provide technical support to Production and Maintenance departments.
Responsible for improving equipment reliability and safety.
Responsible for initiating ergonomic improvements and for complying with ISO 14001 initiatives Responsible for lowering operational and maintenance costs.
Responsible for applying OSHA and EPA regulations to all design work.
Must be able to write effective bid specifications for capital projects.
Responsible for interfacing with numerous departments to ensure accuracy of project design target details, including interfacing with Engineering, Manufacturing, R&D, QA, Supply Management and Maintenance departments to obtain and organize accurate project timelines and information.
Responsible for tracking the expenditures on assigned capital accounts.

BASIC REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelors of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering required.
Minimum 3-8 years engineering experience required.
Thorough knowledge of basic engineering principles, procedures, and practices.
Minimum of 1-3 years of experience in an industrial environment preferred.
Must be familiar with manufacturing from a process manufacturing perspective.
Must be familiar with building systems including HVAC, city water, process water, fire protection systems, natural gas operated systems, storm and sanitary systems.
Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing, with excellent presentation skills.
Excellent interpersonal skills working with peers and middle management.
Must be familiar with OSHA regulations and requirements, and possess basic understanding of EPA requirements.
Proven record of tracking and following projects and presenting summary and detailed project timelines.
Must be able to interface effectively with Production Engineering and Methods, Maintenance, Supply Management, R&D, and all Manufacturing departments
Must be able to work with outside engineering and construction personnel
Must have good judgment, self-motivated, and safety conscious.
Experience with CAD software is beneficial.
