Description Mechanical Engineer (Kent, Ohio)
Our client, located in Kent, Ohio is currently a Mechanical Engineer, responsible for trailer design, development and continuous improvement of existing and future products. This position is a Direct Hire role.

Essential Functions:
Design, model and create assemblies using Solid Edge CAD software
Issue drawings, specifications and BOM parts list
Engineering support for all internal departments, outside sales and customers
New product development plans and cost saving initiatives
Increase product quality through efficient and creative utilization of company resources
Ability to interpret customer needs and provide information within set deadlines
Requires proficiency in Microsoft Office Professional and Windows 7 Professional
Strong Communication skills and effectively communicate with co-workers
Attention to detail, accuracy and precision

Qualifications:
BSME Degree preferred, or Associate Degree in mechanical design with proven relevant experience
5 years minimum applicable experience preferred in developing custom engineered product and manufacturing heavy equipment for on and off-road use
Strong knowledge of 3D CAD sheet metal modeling and layout; SolidEdge or Solidworks a plus
Be competent in completing detailed assemblies and parts in SolidWorks, and performing structural analysis of beams, design pressure vessels and perform simple moment, bending, and shear calculations
Knowledge of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards, and CFRs a strong plus
Hands-on knowledge of welding, fabricating, and assembly processes
Expert working knowledge of MRP systems required
Expert working knowledge of multilevel BOM creation and sheet metal design and dimensioning with ASME Y14.5M desired
Ability to resolve basic engineering calculations
Experience in AIAG tools and/or APQP process a plus
Demonstrated record of achievement in VA/VE programs a plus
