Under the direction of the VP, Clinical Sciences or Associate Manager, Core Lab, the Research Associate, Core Laboratory has responsibility for the quantification and measurement of core laboratory studies. This may include web-based quantification systems such as TeraRecon.

The Research Associate, Core Laboratory shall conduct their work in compliance with GCP and with all applicable regulatory requirements. Local travel may be required.


  • Participate in the development and customization of any TeraRecon modules.
  • Participate in the development of the quantification instructions/manuals.
  • Assist with User Acceptance Testing (UAT) when necessary.
  • Assist with monitoring and reporting on the progress of core laboratory operations to client.
  • Work with a multidisciplinary team (e.g. Biostatistics, Statistical Programming, Project Management, Clinical Monitoring, Medical Writing) as needed to ensure integration with other study related activities.
  • Ensure that adherence to industry standards and regulatory requirements, including but not exclusive to Good Clinical Practices (GCP), is maintained via the documentation of all activities. Ensure that core laboratory Standard Operating Procedures are followed, and that all aspects of the core laboratory’s activities are conducted in accordance with the ethical and professional standards and established policies of the Company.
  • Perform related duties as required and assigned.


  • Work requires graduation from an accredited bachelor’s degree program or work as a Registered Nurse (RN), Physician's Assistant (PA) or Pharmacist.
  • Skilled use of computer technology, including databases, applications and the ability to learn new applications.
  • Must be able to work independently following a period of specific technical training.
  • Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail, with the ability to work independently and in a team environment.
  • Demonstrate a high degree of personal and professional integrity.

Work Environment: Will work primarily at Syntactx headquarters in New York City. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to manipulate objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; talk or hear. Work may involve long periods of standing and/or computer usage. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. The noise level in the work environment can be moderate.
