We are currently seeking a Medical Monitor to work onsite with the National Institutes of Health in Rockville, MD.

This is a long-term contract position which offers:

**TASKS.** The contractor shall:

+ Review clinical trial protocols and provide comments as for safety and operational issues with DMID sponsored protocols.

+ Assess serious adverse events from clinical trials.

+ Assess SUSAR notifications from outside companies, and assess for impact to current DMID studies

+ Perform periodic medical data review Reviews laboratory values, adverse events, coding documentaries and data tables, listing and figures as needed

+ Review and provide recommendations on the design and safety of clinical trials that represent DMID in communications with the FDA, sponsors and academia partners while developing and implanting clinical trials.

+ Provides medical/scientific expertise to project teams

+ Interacts with internal colleagues and external partners as appropriate

+ Review safety reports and represent DMID as safety expert on safety committees.

+ Participate in department (OCRA) standing meeting, training and safety related educational programs and efforts.

+ Write policies and guidelines on safety related issues for DMID sponsored studies

+ Provide advice on the oversight of clinical trials.

+ Proactively identifies process and implementation issues/gaps needing attention/remediation, and manages their effective escalation and participates in the resolution

**REQUIREMENTS.** The contractor must have:

+ Medical degree from an accredited university. Experience in evaluating adverse events.

+ Minimum of six (6) years of experience in medicine or a related field.

+ Experience in the development of clinical trial protocols.

+ Demonstrates experience in performing medical research.

+ Experience in the development of clinical trial protocols and related materials for vaccine and therapeutics.

+ Experience in evaluating adverse events of study products as part of early phase clinical trials.

+ Ability to communicate well, work in a team.

+ Experience in matrix organizations.
