**Contract Length: 12 months W2**



**Pay rate: $22.50 hourly**

**Supervisor Title:** QC Metrology Lead

**Position Summary /Objective:**

To perform calibrations, maintenance, troubleshooting and repairs of instruments utilizing only approved Methods, Procedures (SOPs) and Corporate Policies while maintaining adherence to current industry standards (cGMPs, GLPs, etc.). Will be expected to work either independently or as a team to achieve company goals and initiatives.

**Essential Duties / Functions**

Follow established laboratory safety and operational procedures.

Provide back up to supervisor as necessary.

Execute instrument qualification protocols as required.

Provide input in the SOP revision process and be able to provide redline copy of SOP.

Audit calibration / preventative maintenance data and approve / release instruments for use.

Conduct laboratory instrument calibration and maintenance according to a predefined schedule

Initiate of change controls and provide assistance in the processing of the change controls

Initiate deviations. Obtain appropriate authorization for proposed remediation plans (TrackWise database entry).

Service instrumentation in accordance with approved Methods & Procedures.

Document all activities in a legible manner following established formats and procedures.

**Qualification and Requirements**

**Requirements**

Education Required BS/BA Degree in a Scientific Discipline.

Experience Required: 2 to 5 years in a pharmaceutical laboratory. Minimum of 1 to 2 years dedicated to maintaining instrumentation calibration, troubleshooting and repair experience

Specialized or Technical Knowledge, Licenses, Certifications required Knowledge of cGMPs, GLPs etc...

Demonstrated proficiency in metrological skills with the ability to train others.

Possess adequate written and oral communication skills (may be evaluated using a written test).

Possess strong mathematical skills (i.e., fractions, percentages, ratios and algebraic expressions, etc.).

Broad instrumentation knowledge (i.e., HPLC, GC, UV, IR, KF, pH, etc.)

Basic to intermediate computer skills including but not limited to word processing, spreadsheet management, email, and use of equipment specific instrumentation software.

**Physical Demand Requirement** The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing all day. The employee must frequently lift and/or move items over 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. Must be able to wear /use personal protective equipment as required such as lab coat, eye protection , gloves, masks etc
