**Job Title: Metrology Specialist**



**Salary: 60k**



**This is a direct-hire salaried position + benefits, PTO, and additional company perks**



**Summary:**



The Metrology Specialist oversees the daily duties of equipment management and works in close cooperation with EPBS Management, Project Management, Laboratory Staff and Quality Assurance Unit in planning, scheduling, maintaining and coordinating the calibration, preventative maintenance and repair of required laboratory equipment at the St. Charles site in order to remain in proper compliance with regulation. The Metrology Specialist also coordinates the capital expenditure process for purchases for EPBS and maintains accurate records of equipment/instrumentation expenses. The Metrology Specialist will perform hands-on duties as required for the success of equipment management.






**Essential Duties and Responsibilities:**



+ Oversees procurement and contract management for laboratory equipment related matters

+ Maintains positive relationships with employees, vendors, and service providers

+ Responds to off-hours alarms and/or events as required



+ Directs the equipment and validation team and executes responsibilities in accordance with the organizations policies and applicable laws

+ Performs equipment maintenance and troubleshoots validation issues

+ Performs certain qualifications of equipment after repair or movement within the laboratory

+ Acts as a participant in instrument selection, evaluation and validation, acquisition, implementation, and performance monitoring

+ Assists in set up of laboratory equipment and instrumentation required for testing G _x_ P or CLIA samples or research samples

+ Ensures required equipment maintenance is completed per the facilitys standard operating procedures

+ Oversees the calibration, maintenance, repair and troubleshooting of instrumentation and equipment for the laboratory, via hands-on or 3 rd party vendors, to ensure conformance to established calibration standards and facilitys standard operating procedures

+ Analyzes and resolves or assists employees in solving work problems, providing cross-functional support as needed

+ Establishes or adjusts work procedures to meet deadlines and schedules

+ Writes and reviews standard operating procedures, validation plans and reports

+ Assures that all standard operating procedures are followed appropriately and regulatory requirements are met

+ Assists the development and deployment of systems for equipment management, assessment, and routine status updates

+ Interacts with the appropriate finance team to maintain accurate equipment assets inventory listings

+ Demonstrates and promotes the company vision

+ Regular attendance and punctuality

+ Applies GMP/GLP/GCP in all areas of responsibility, as appropriate

+ Conducts all activities in a safe and efficient manner

+ Adheres to site employee health and safety (EHS) requirements

+ Performs other duties as assigned

+ Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, standard operating procedures, maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.

+ Ability to write reports and correspondence.

+ Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word.

+ Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited information is available.

+ Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

+ Have a positive attitude

+ Proficient in Adobe Acrobat PDF

+ Organized, high attention to detail, time management






**Qualifications**



To perform this job successfully, the individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements below are representative of the knowledge, skill or ability required.



+ Bachelors Degree in a science or engineering related field from a four-year college or university

+ Vocational/technical schooling equivalency combined with > 5 years experience with equipment, metrology, and validation in a regulated setting

+ Or equivalent combination of education and experience.
