7pm-7am 12hour rotating shift schedule

Pay $17+/hr.



Kelly Outsourcing & Consulting Group (KellyOCG), a managed solution provider and business unit of Kelly Services, Inc., is currently seeking a Chemical Operator for a long-term engagement at one of our Global clients in Ringwood, IL. As a Chemical Operator placed with KellyOCG you will be responsible for the following:



Summary:



The chemical operator is responsible for managing and following the chemical process, including operating reactors and distillation columns, drumming final product and packaging and palletizing solid products.





This position will work with other process operators, packagers, maintenance tech, production engineer, Logistics personnel in Ringwood operations facility.





CHEMICAL OPERATOR RINGWOOD SITE:



- Operation of batch reactors, distillation columns, continuous process equipment.



- Operation of waste evaporation equipment; handling of hazardous and non-hazardous materials and waste.



- Filtering and screening.



- Loading and blending of wet or dry materials. Pumping.



- Operation of computerized control system of process.



- Cleaning reactor and kettle.



- Drumming of finished liquid product in to tank cars, tank truck, totes, 55 gal. drums, 5 gal. pails, and various size bottles and cans.



- Packaging and palletizing solid products in bags and/or drums ranging in size from 50 lbs. to 2200 lbs.



- Performing general housekeeping duties.



- Hand and Fork Lift truck operation.



- Sampling of raw materials and/or finished good.



- Recording of batch variables and logging data both manually and into the SAP computer system.



- Performing all work safely and injury-free.



- Must actively participate in improving department and plant safety performance.



- Must attend and participate in Ringwood Plant Programs/Committees/Training as required, such as Department Safety, Central Safety, Behavioral Safety, Ringwood Safety Journey, Housekeeping Audit Teams, ISD, etc.



- Follow the Procedure Use Policy. Use SAP/NEA and WebEDMS



- Use Logbook as per Dow requirements.



- Comply with Dow Document Management System.



- Respect and Follow Life Critical Standards.



- Participate on RCI s/5Why s.



- Do verbal/face to face turnover.



- Write Work Orders.



- Participate on Projects Kaizen and Engineering.



- Other duties as requested by management.



- Notify supervision of all injuries, illnesses, spills and other safety incidents immediately.



- Successfully complete all required EH S Training.

- Mark up procedures that need better clarification and escalate to engineer to ensure procedure gets updated/improved

- Must have sufficient judgment to ask questions when in doubt regarding procedures or instructions.

- Must be able to exercise sufficient judgment to prevent product losses and protect Company equipment.



- Must be able to maintain confidentiality of information concerning product process relative to Company business.



- Must have ability to do math calculations and read process instructions and material safety data sheets.



- Must be safety-minded and have good housekeeping habits.



- Must actively work to improve the safety performance of fellow employees by giving and receiving feedback on safety.





Education/Certification/Experience Requirements



- Must be at least 18 years of age and Must have and maintain a valid driver's license



- High school diploma, equivalent, or a satisfactory work record is required



- Must be able to read, write, and verbally communicate in English.



- Must be able to calculate various measurements using basic math skills.



- Fork Truck operation training will be provided





Physical Requirements:



- With mechanic assist, must be able to manually move 500 pound drums after proper PHYSICAL training.



- Must be able to manually lift and handle a nominal weight of 25kgs (55lbs).



- Ability to wear various types of respirators (cartridge, fresh air, or self-contained). Facial hair around the sealing surface of the respirator is not allowed.



- Must be able to climb ladders and stairs.



- Must have sufficient dexterity and strength to operate process equipment, turn valves, etc.



- Must be able to operate hand tools, such as pliers, screwdrivers, and scrapers.



- Required to stand up to 90% of working day with frequent walking, intermittent stopping and bending while operating equipment, drumming, etc.



- Must be able to tolerate periodic hot, inside working conditions or cold outside conditions



- Have no known sensitivity or history of skin or respiratory allergies to dust, dirt, or chemicals to which there may be workplace exposure if an allergic reaction could create a safety or health hazard.



- Must be able to wear required protective clothing & equipment.



- Must be able to operate forklifts both manual, (pallet jacks), and sit-down riders.
