**Nissan Automotive Test Equipment Engineer**

We are currently looking for a Test Equipment Engineer to join our R&D team. This full-time contract position will be located in Farmington Hills, MI.


The ideal candidate will have a broad knowledge of research and development testing in a lab environment. In this position, the candidate will be responsible for planning, acquisition, and commissioning of new capital test equipment, including working cross functionally with engineering teams to understand technical requirements; dealing with suppliers to identify appropriate equipment, and with the end users to develop a training and handoff plan. In addition, this candidate will support process improvements and identify future capital requirements in the lab. This position may require travel, overtime work on some weekends, and/or off-shift work as needed.


Test Equipment Engineer responsibilities include:


+ Test Equipment Facilities: Planning, specifications, acquisition, installation, introduction, and overall project management responsibilities.

+ Administration of maintenance, repair and calibration processes for test equipment and test facilities.

+ Technology Development: Identification of new equipment needs and applications, and examination of current test methods and lab process to uncover opportunities for streamlining and other improvements

+ Budget: Planning and managing of the current and future Test Laboratory budget for equipment and facility items


Minimum Qualifications:


+ BSME or BSEE degree highly preferred; other engineering degrees will be considered.

+ Background in test equipment and facilities preferred

+ Strong project management background

+ Experience in a testing environment

+ Excellent problem solving, critical thinking, and communication skills

+ Positive attitude, eagerness to learn new tasks

+ Candidates must be a U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident
