Job Overview

Receiving Inspectors are responsible for performing inspection of incoming components in accordance with documented quality standards and expectations to ensure the quality of incoming product.

Key Job Accountabilities

-Follow written and oral instructions to meet customer demands and material standards in assigned area per applicable site training matrix.

-Perform manual and automated operations of equipment and processes following training and Standard Operating Procedures (SOP-s), Equipment Operating Instructions (EOI-s), and Work Instructions (WI-s).

-Perform appropriate quality inspection on incoming components. It may include but is not limited to custom-engineered components (CEC), printed circuit boards (PCB), and electronic components routed through receiving inspection.

-Read and interpret drawings to determine pass/fail criteria in a timely manner. Display proper measuring techniques and skills when using calibrated tools. Demonstrate high attention to detail while inspecting product and recording inspection data.

-Display strong oral and written communication skills to address quality discrepancies and non-conformance with Supplier Quality Engineers, Quality Engineers, Supervisors, and Suppliers.

-Become trained to the area-s core standards and functional specific operations before working without direct or supervisory oversight.

-Stay current on processes, procedures, standards, policies and training for assigned job and operational area.

-Minimal travel may be required to meet the needs of the business.

-Additional duties as assigned by management.

**Requirements**

Skills & Abilities

-Basic computer skills required

-Strong attention to detail

-Self motivated

-Ability to interpret GD&T

-Ability to interpret, receive direction and apply both written and oral communication

-Flexible to quickly adapt to learning new tasks, moving to new areas to meet changing customer demands

-Flexible and able to work overtime, nights, various shifts and weekends as required

-Flexible to work in multiple areas as required

-Demonstrated competencies in: teamwork, professional demeanor, quality, job knowledge, communication, problem solving and lean principles, flexibility, attendance and timeliness

Education & Experience

-A minimum of a High School diploma or GED or equivalent is required for this position.

-Experience of at least 2 years of similar work in a manufacturing environment is preferred for this position, assuming education requirements are met. Equivalent industry experience of 1 or more years is required.

-Quality inspection experience desired.
