**Job Description**


One of Kelly's top clients in the chemical industry is seeking a strong ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT / Office Clerk to join their team asap. This is a temporary position for at least 3 months (but could go permanent for the right candidate). Pay is between $15 to $17 hourly and offers full-time hours with a schedule of Monday thru Friday from 8 AM to 5 PM. Location is off of Katy Freeway (West I-10) area.


DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Manages the reception area to ensure effective telephone and mail communications both internally and externally to maintain professional image.

- Supervises and coordinates overall administrative activities for the Office Administration Department.

- Supervises the maintenance and alteration of office areas and equipment, as well as layout, arrangement and housekeeping of office facilities.

- Coordinates the purchase of office supplies and furniture, office equipment, etc., for the administrative/shared service staff in accordance with company purchasing policies and budgetary restrictions.

- Manages the conference room schedule to insure appropriate use in booking and time constraints. This would include ordering supplies, refreshments, and meals for attendees from time to time.

- Supervises the maintenance of office equipment, including copier, fax machine, etc.

- Responsible for the facilities day-to-day operations (such as distributing building access keys and back-up to security access cards, etc.)

- Assist with travel arrangements for HTC Personnel

- Maintain HTC CIMS database (log in chemicals / remove chemicals / SDS-s / etc)

- Receive / Send out chemical samples

-Obtain DOT Certificate for Chemical Shipment / Documentation / Packaging / etc

- Complete waste documentation for E2 pickup

- Gain expertise in ServiceNow platform as required for project management, etc

- Coordinating with Safety Department for visitor/contractor security training, according to C-TPAT standards.

- Participates as needed in special department projects.


**Requirements**


- High School Diploma

- At least two years of PBX experience.

- Working knowledge of mail processes such as postage machine, Federal Express and UPS.

- Good planning and organizational skills.

- Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills.

- Professional appearance and manner.

- Computer literacy, specifically MS Office.

- Ability to manage staff (supervisory experience).

- Ability to negotiate effectively.

- Ability to lift approximately 15-20 lbs.

- 5+ Years Industry Experience, Knowledge of Oilfield Chemicals / Processes.

- At least two years of previous experience in office management.
