Operational Electrical Engineer

We are currently seeking an **Electrical Engineer** in **Washington, Pennsylvania** to support operations. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a team where providing engineering expertise and supporting operation through new equipment design and/or existing equipment modification will optimize efficiency, safety, quality, and cost effectiveness.


**Essential Functions**


+ Design, test, install and maintain electronic equipment and machinery in operations areas.

+ Coordinate project work with plant organizations. Estimate project electrical and instrument costs, manpower needs and schedules.

+ Develop standard operating procedures to improve quality or reduce or eliminate quality problems.

+ Review and analyze complex statements, standards, specifications, engineering drawings and other documentation to determine engineering requirements.

+ Provide and direct technical expertise and assistance to engineers, technicians, hourly craft personnel, etc.

+ Design and/or repair complex electronic and electrical assemblies and systems using components such as integrated circuits, electronic tubes, transistors, resistors, inductors, capacitors, transformers, switches, etc.

+ May design electronic circuitry, analog or digital electronic components to achieve engineering requirements.

+ Perform and/or support the performance of testing involving the electrical integration of equipment and processes.

+ Develop or modify computerized procedures for testing of electronic assemblies and systems.

+ Determine appropriate test criteria and procedures and analyze data comparing against specified and computer values, making changes and improvements as needed.

+ Troubleshoot problems, analyze, and resolve issues accurately and efficiently.

+ May inspect, certify, and evaluate on-site operational systems and design modifications.

+ Prepare reports, proposals and presentations analyzing customer technical requirements and recommend solutions and process improvements.

+ Prepare specifications, evaluate bids, and negotiate contracts with selected contractors and vendors.

+ Responsible for electrical and instrumentation aspects of capital and expense projects.

+ Work closely with electric utility companies on electrical matters.

+ Monitor plant electrical maintenance work to ensure that it conforms to safety and code requirements.

+ Consult with management of problems and process improvement objectives.

+ May be responsible for supervising hourly-union maintenance workforce


**Requirements**


+ Bachelor's Degree in Electrical or Electrical Technology Engineering discipline.

+ Experience in a manufacturing environment in the field with electrical design and/or projects.


Prior Experience


+ Must have previous industrial experience and be comfortable working onsite.

+ Extremely hands-on position working wit internal and external team members.

+ Previous experience with cranes is highly desirable.

+ Computer working knowledge with Microsoft Office and ability to adapt to job related systems.


Knowledge, Skills and Abilities


+ Ability to communicate effectively both verbal and written with internal and external customers at all levels.

+ Ability to analyze and resolve problems effectively.

+ Ability to lead, train and be a team play following all company policies, union contracts and safety regulations.

+ Ability to work independently with high motivation and organization capabilities.

+ Possess excellent mathematical reasoning, comprehension and ability to apply engineering principles.

+ Knowledge of process controller installation, electronic systems, control instruments, maintenance, and programming techniques is highly desirable.
