**DURATION:** 6 Months (Temporary / Contract)



**JOB** **_DESCRIPTION:_**









**Shift flexibility is required as this role will be supporting a 24/7 operation. This will either be a 2nd or 3rd shift position, 13 hour shifts M-F, every 3rd weekend required! Responsible for directing and guiding operators and their activities for assigned area/shift in the execution of production and/or logistics plans (receiving, processing, mixing, baking, packaging, shipping, etc.), shift change management and communication, daily production standards and labor reconciliation. May be used as Maintenance Supervisor relief. Participate in the development of and implements plans and policies to ensure compliance in all areas of responsibility. Operates production lines in accordance with FDA guidelines, Good Manufacturing Practices and HACCP/SQF program guidelines. Responsible for team development of employees to insure proper mixing, machining, packaging and logistics in assigned areas according to targeted specifications, to achieve total quality. Helps to develop new Operations Supervisors in all responsibilities and promote a positive attitude. Responsible for problem solving process to resolve and/or mitigate those operational issues result in negative performance to plan as determined by the established escalation process. Responsible for support of Lean Training as directed by Operations Manager for assigned area/shift. Responsible for compliance with all regulations. Food safety plant in proper sanitary condition at all times, including allergen control, pest control, guidelines followed. Compliance with food safety policies and procedures. Compliance with employee safety policies and procedures. Participate in Employee Relations, Labor Relations, Training (including development) Administer the terms of the Collective Bargaining Agreement/work rules and company policies and procedures in a consistent manner; attempting to resolve grievance and disputes on the floor whenever possible. Maintain understanding of processes and functional interdependencies. Recognize and escalate, as needed, those issue identified as potential risks to, or, opportunities to improve plant performance.







Skills Required




- Proficiency with computers, including the Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, and Excel) - Effective communication (both written and verbally) and interpersonal skills - Proven ability to effectively manage people - Strong problem solving ability - Ability to work with employees at all levels of the organization - Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate others - Candidate must be able to effectively function in a union environment and promote positive labor relations.







Skills Preferred




- Union experience - Processing, packing and mechanical experience - Experience with or understanding of Six Sigma or Lean Manufacturing technique - Experience with SAP







Experience Required




2+ years related work experience in a manufacturing or supervisory role







Experience Preferred




- Union experience - Food manufacturing







Education Required




- Bachelors degree in a related field and 2 years related experience - OR - High School Diploma/GED required plus a minimum of 5 years related work experience (in manufacturing or supervisory role).
