**Title:** Operations Supervisor

**Location:** Battle Creek, MI

**Duration:** 12 months

**Pay:** $25.00/hour

**Operations Supervisor**


+ Responsible for directing and guiding operators and their activities for assigned area/shift in the execution of production and/or logistics plans (receiving, processing, mixing, baking, packaging, shipping, etc.), shift change management and communication, daily production standards and labor reconciliation. May be used as Maintenance Supervisor relief.

+ Participate in the development of and implements plans and policies to ensure compliance in all areas of responsibility.

+ Operates production lines in accordance with FDA guidelines, Good Manufacturing Practices and HACCP/SQF program guidelines.

+ Responsible for team development of employees to ensure proper mixing, machining, packaging and logistics in assigned areas according to targeted specifications, to achieve total quality.

+ Helps to develop new Operations Supervisors in all responsibilities and promote a positive attitude.

+ Responsible for problem solving process to resolve and/or mitigate those operational issues

+ Responsible for support of Lean Training as directed by Operations Manager for assigned area/shift.

+ Responsible for compliance with all regulations, food safety policies and procedures.

+ Compliance with employee safety policies and procedures.

+ Participate in Employee Relations, Labor Relations, Training (including development)

+ Administer the terms of the Collective Bargaining Agreement/work rules and company policies and procedures in a consistent manner; attempting to resolve grievance and disputes on the floor whenever possible.

**Required Qualifications**

+ 2+ years related work experience in a manufacturing or supervisory role

+ Bachelors degree in a related field

+ Will consider a High School Diploma/GED plus a minimum of 5 years related work experience (in manufacturing or supervisory role).

+ Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, and Excel)

**Competencies Required**

+ Candidate must be able to effectively function in a union environment and promote positive labor relations.

+ Ability to work with employees at all levels of the organization

+ Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate others

+ Proven ability to effectively manage people

+ Strong problem-solving ability

+ Effective communication (both written and verbally) and interpersonal skills

**Preferred Qualifications**

+ Union experience

+ Food manufacturing experience

+ Processing, packing and mechanical experience

+ Experience with or understanding of Six Sigma or Lean Manufacturing technique

+ Experience with SAP


+ This will either be a 2nd or 3rd shift position / 13-hour shifts

+ Monday Friday, every 3rd weekend required

+ Training on 1st shift but after training they will need to be flexible to work 2nd shift (2pm-11pm) or 3rd shift (10pm-7am).

+ Shift flexibility is required as this role will be supporting a 24/7 operation.
