REMOTE (Hybrid Schedule)


Support the ERG Leads to drive collaborative progress for employee resource groups (ERGs); provide tactical support for ERGs to help stabilize self-sufficiency; provide updates and consolidate metrics on ERG progress; facilitate communication, advocacy and marketing for these programs


+ Routinely highlight the inclusion efforts in process via key SLAC communication channels

+ Coordinate and maintain a project management approach to our DEI programming, i.e., scoping the program, determining the learning goals of the program, aligning the program to an organizational need, advertising the program and collecting metrics about the program

+ Lead the preparation and coordinate inputs of labs Affirmative Action Plan and Annual DOE inclusion and diversity Plan; ensure lab-level visibility to these and highlight linkage to activities in the lab to these plans and progress

+ Add value to ERG and other related meetings by scheduling meetings, taking notes, drafting minutes and providing other administrative support

+ Actively engage the workforce to educate and identify effective approaches to integrate and institutionalize and embed D&I thinking into everyday practices; help increase consciousness and guide the laboratory to embed principles of inclusion, diversity and equity into general decision making, people management practices, and everyday thinking and interactions that foster inclusion and value diversity

+ Implement effective change management methods; utilize strong collaboration and serve as a resource and partner to HR leaders, business partners, SLAC client groups, and management

+ Assist with standing up an Inclusion & Diversity Council

+ Partner with data analytics to determine and report progress reflected in performance management and compensation outcomes, promotions, and high potential development for ERG members

+ Research best practices to move the Labs strategy forward; identify and help integrate process improvements and explore new opportunities to engage management and directorates to drive the Labs business results; serve as point of contact with key external organizations/associations and D&I events and engagements in the field


+ Coordinate with ERGs on outreach efforts; establish, deliver, and oversee mechanisms for connecting recruiting/workforce attraction efforts with ERG focus outreach targets; support strategy development and provide guidance and support for the coordination and outreach of diversity-focused pipeline programs; partner closely with Internship / Pipeline Program and Workforce Attraction teams to determine methods and strategy for targeted diversity outreach

+ Assist in establishing metrics and tracking to show progress toward goals and objectives; help establish and utilize methods for monitoring outreach efforts with ERGs that dovetail with Workforce Attraction team goals and metrics

+ Co-manage implementation of ERG-sponsored mentoring program; provide support to Talent Development team to enhance existing and new mentoring program implementation targeting early career and diverse populations

+ Explore and coordinate k-12 stem education partners and opportunities that build a pipeline of historically underrepresented talent for the lab; determine and gather the metrics to determine the ROI

+ Bachelors degree and two years of relevant experience, or combination of education and relevant experience.


+ Demonstrated ability to establish priorities, manage shifting priorities, and handle numerous time-sensitive projects with multiple deadlines.

+ Ability to accomplish goals working through formal and informal channels, with diplomacy and tactfulness.

+ Demonstrated creativity, problem solving, critical analysis, initiative, judgment and, decision-making skills.

+ Demonstrated solid planning and organizational skills.

+ Demonstrated experience working independently and as part of a team.

+ Excellent interpersonal, written and oral communication skills.

+ Strong relevant subject matter knowledge.

+ Events planning and programming experience.

+ Administrative experience.

+ Experience focused on inclusion and diversity related work, especially working with ERGs.

+ Familiarity with implicit bias/bias mitigation concepts, neuroscience in decision-making, change management frameworks, and/or behavioral competencies.
