We have a temporary employment opportunity for an **Outreach Programs Coordinator.**


In this role you will be primarily responsible for coordinating the operational duties to maintain the laboratory's tour program.


You will also provide administrative and logistical support to ongoing outreach activities of the Outreach and Events team.


**Responsibilities** include but are not limited to the following:


+ Perform duties associated with planning and organizing tours of SLAC, including managing the tour calendar, scheduling tour guides, handling internal tour logistics, reserving transportation and serving as liaison with internal and external stakeholders.

+ Respond to tour inquiries by phone and email, and determine and take appropriate action as required.

+ Ensure proper implementation of the tour policy and procedures

+ Provide advisory support and resources to employees who are organizing their own tour

+ Maintain the public tour website and associated websites, and assist with the production of content for related online and print materials.

+ Maintain accurate accounting of tour expenses.

+ Track accurate tour metrics.

+ Enhance and maintain positive working relationships with tour guides, employees and the public.

+ Draft and/or generate routine communications; coordinate production formatting, copying, etc. and dissemination of documents, such as presentations, briefings, reports, brochures, and displays.

+ Assist with other outreach efforts and events as needed and work collaboratively with other Communications staff on special projects as assigned.

**EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:**


+ High school diploma and four years of relevant experience, or a combination of education and relevant experience.

+ A background as a program coordinator, administrative or operational support strongly preferred.

+ Work experience in an academic or research environment strongly preferred.


**KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:**


+ Strong organizational skills, attention to detail and accuracy, and demonstrated ability to multi-task

+ Flexibility and dependability

+ Excellent written and verbal communication skills needed to work successfully with a broad range of individuals, both internally and externally.

+ Exceptional customer service and interpersonal skills.

+ Demonstrated success working independently and as part of a team. Strong computer skills and demonstrated experience with Microsoft Office software and email applications, as well as web-based collaboration services.


**Certifications and Licenses:**


Must possess and maintain a valid California Class C Non-commercial Driver s License


**PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:**


Ability to obtain and maintain a California Non-commercial Class license. Drive during day and night time Constantly perform desk-based computer tasks
