Description **Job Description**

Assemblers mount hardware, components, and devices per general arrangement drawings. They use hand tools, pneumatic equipment, and their hands for installation of a variety of equipment. An Assembler is also required to perform other miscellaneous tasks, as supervision deems necessary.

**Requirements**

- Assembles and installs electrical and electronic components in turbine and generator control panels, main junction and terminal boxes, main control switch panels, and instrument panels, according to specifications, using hand tools, and equipment: Reads work orders, general arrangements, and specifications to determine and establish assembly method.

- May attach eyelets, terminals, and mounting studs.

- Maintain a clean and orderly work area.

- Run conduit, cable tray, tubing, and bus bars.

- Ability to read and interpret documents furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, quality manuals and procedure manuals.

- Be able to read and interpret general arrangement drawings.

- Must be able to read a tape measure.

- Ability to perform simple shop math, convert decimals to fractional equivalents.

- Day shift is 10 hours

- Stand-continuously (8-10 hours)

- Walk-occasionally (2 hours)

- Sit-rarely, very seldom may sit the entire shift

- Lift to/from floor-up to 50 lbs. occasionally (components), up to 25 lbs. frequent (components)

- Lift overhead-up to 20 lbs. rarely (components), 10 lbs. occasionally (components)

- Lift waist level-up to 50 lbs. occasionally (components), 25 lbs. frequent (components)

- Two hand carry-up to 30 lbs. for 5 feet, occasionally (components), heavier items are moved with a hoist

- Elevated work (reaching)-frequently (to work on backplanes)

- Twist-rarely (to reach areas in panels)

- Bend-frequently (to reach areas on panels working on components on sawhorses or tables)

- Squat-occasionally (working around panels)

- Kneel or crouch-frequently (wiring panels)

- Stair climb-occasionally (rolling stairs)

- Ladder climb- occasionally (to reach upper parts of panels)

- Balance-frequently (walking or standing around equipment, machines and components)

- Manual dexterity-rarely (writing, handling small items)

- Lifting more than 50 lbs. is performed by two employees or mechanical assistance is required
